And how exactly do you suggest they start winning? Bribing the officials? Trading for Josh Freeman? There's not much that can be done at this point aside from improving the QB position, and there's not much you can do there either.
Lions and Panthers however did turn things around. Lions were a team not a lot unlike us -- they had their own Shack Harris (Matt Millen). Drafted too many WR's. Then finally found a QB.
Granted, this team is not good but it's stupid to say "I see a lot of people upset about this season on here but I think it's a good thing" when you are promoting a losing mentality as the OP says. I can't tell you what it takes to win now, I can only tell you it's not a good thing EVER to want to lose.
The best teams are built through the entire draft. We have twice picked a QB in the top 10 over the last 10 years and it's been a failure. Drafting again in the top 10 ought to be evidence that it's not guaranteed. The coaches know this, the fan base does not.

Teddy Bridgewater is the closest thing to a guarentee you can get. Which is why everyone wants to be drafting first. Wouldnt you have rather lost 2 games against the colts in 2011 so we could have had Luck instead of them?

You weren't getting Luck regardless for Pete's sake. We drafted our QB of the future the year before and signed him as such. Just as we did with Leftwich in '03 when Big Ben was in the draft the following year. Don't you guys get it??????? Sheeesh.
Hindsight is 20/20. If we sign Teddy Bridgewater next year and Joe Blow is available the following year you ARE NOT going to sign him. Three years later Bridgewater is a bust and Joe Blow is killing it you can't say, "why didn't we sign Joe Blow". It doesn't work that way. Good Lord!

This season is a good thing not because we're losing, but because we're ready to rise up again. This team lacks a QB and has for a while now. We'll have the opportunity to get one -- he may or may not work out. But risk nothing, gain nothing. We're hitting the bottom, ready to bounce up. How high we bounce depends on Dave Caldwell.
Our team has been on the decline for a while now. And it may just take hitting bottom for us to bounce back up. That's why this season isn't so bad. Sometimes a reality check is needed. Blaine Gabbert isn't a starter. That much is for certain. How do we get one? Well, that's for Mr. Caldwell to figure out. But with the first pick of the draft, he'll have an opportunity to get whoever he wants.
It's a moot point anyways, Chief. They are trying to win, they just can't.
We have to win in the offseason next year. That includes drafting our Luck/Wilson/Kaepernick/etc...get "the man". That includes getting some plug and play interior offensive linemen in the draft or via free agency. If we can do that, I think we'll be better. A cherry on top would be a nice young running back in the 2-4th round range that can carry the load.
