So you want to use scare tactics from 40+ years ago? Sure you'll get a flag, fined, if its too late you just may get ejected.
Quote:Half-joking.... (meaning I wouldn't want him badly hurt by it, but I would want the message sent)
As if the Raiders, Cowboys & Steelers of the 70s didn't use this kind of intimidation?? Yet they are celebrated...
Intimidation is part of football. I'd take the 15 yarder in exchange for having a chance to help get Peyton off his game.

Sounds like something Greg Schiano would do though tbh.
Quote:Small consolation.
How exactly is making the playoffs and losing a small consolation? I would much rather have an amazing regular season and lose in the playoffs than deal with what we have going on right now.

Im sure your the only one who has thought of such a tactic.

Not sure I would.....That Tennessee loss in the AFCC at home when heavily favored was bad....real bad....put a sour taste for that entire 1999 season.
I'd rather not make the playoffs at all especially if the result is one & done blowout loss like in 2005 vs the Patriots.

Well... yeah. I mean, this is really bad.
But I'd rather have success in the playoffs than
not have success in the playoffs.
I wouldn't want to be a team that's just 'happy to be there'

That happened one week after we crushed the Dolphins 62-7, benching Dan Marino in his last game. It was great to see Jimmy Johnson retire that way. Also, nobody ever said the Patriots ruined 1996, even though they beat us in the AFC Championship Game. So the fact that we played against Tennessee a third time is something to be appreciated, even though we were at the wrong end of it.

I've always hated the Patriots, Jets, and Titans.
Man. I just can't understand how Manning gets it done. He's got nothing left. All he throws is lob balls.

He is just a regular season QB wizard.
That will change when he gets to the playoffs.

His team is carrying him this year. Its really really strange to me. With his play they shouldn't be 5-0, and yet they are. I want to let it sink in that Peyton has less yards than Bortles, less TD's and more ints than Bortles. He is done, for real. I mean he has more Int than TD's this year (6:7), even with his great knowledge of the game his arm can't get it done anymore. I feel sad that it is ending this way for him. I mean he has played a long time, much longer than most players, but the injurys/age have finally caught up (and I blame the injuries more). Denver will make the playoffs this year, but I just can't see them doing much when they get there.
They have the best defense in the league right now, that's why

I never would have seen the game if I didn't have free NFL package this year. But, damn, there were a few of his throws that looked like high arc, slow pitch, softball pitches.
It still shocks me that so many people doubt Peyton Manning during the regular season.. sure if its post season i can see the arguement but during the regular season peyton is going to find a way to win...

Doubt him? Have you seen him play this year? He has no arm whatsoever. That team is predicated on a strong defense and him not making any mistakes. Saying he had a noodle-arm is being kind. It's absolutely amazing he's been able to do what he's done so far.
"Peyton Manning – Broncos: It looks more and more like Peyton Manning waited just a year too long to retire, as the Hall of Fame QB reminded me more of Willie Mays in the Mets outfield than John Elway in the Super Bowl. Manning finished the game with 266 yards passing, no touchdowns, 2 interceptions, and 2 sacks, stats worthy of the
2nd-worst performance by a starting QB in Week 5.
Brandon Weeden was a better fantasy QB than Manning this week, and Weeden is going to lose his job because of his game!"

Broncos fans know all too well of what happens in the post-Peyton era. Even at 5-0 the lot of them are clamoring for Osweiler to start so they can get a jump on evaluating him.
As a Jag fan in Denver, I can't wait until the team stops winning.
