This is something some of us were talking about at the gym yesterday. Looking at the second half of the schedule, there could be some winnable games (Buffalo, Cleveland and Arizona). So assume the Jaguars win a few and end up with the second pick and Bridgewater goes first. Would you take Clowney and then trade the early second rounder (#33 or #34) to Washington for Kirk Cousins. The Jaguars had success trading for Brunell almost 20 years ago. And we've seen Hasselbeck and Schaub work out as backups traded to teams to be starters. But of course you could throw out Matt Cassel, AJ Feeley, Charlie Whitehurst and our own Rob Johnson as examples of failures. I tend to think that unless RGIII's leg buckles again, the Skins will try to trade Cousins to make up for the picks they traded away to StL.
Depends on what kind of haul you could get for the second pick. If someone like Boyd, Mariota, or Hundley has established themselves as a legitimate franchise prospect that teams are willing to part with an RGIII-esque package for (I doubt they'll be viewed that highly), then Jacksonville should probably be taking one of them for themselves.
I'm not sold on any of those three being at that level yet (or the RS sophomores actually declaring), but I'm equally unsold on Cousins.
Hell no to giving up a 2nd on Cousins. I would take Bortles in the 2nd or something.

I tend to think we will see some seperation on the QB's as the draft approaches. I don't see Bridgewater sliding and think he will be the number on guy. The best hope for the Jaguars if they have the second pick that is there is an RGIII (Hundley, Boyd, whoever) to go with Bridgewater's Andrew Luck.
Stephen Morris>Kirk and Clowney
Franchise QB>Mediocre QB and lazy DE
cousins for a 2nd rounder :woot: :woot: :teehee: :teehee: :woot: :teehee: :woot: :teehee:

Lol. Morris is not a franchise QB.
We trade back and take Boyd or later Carr.

Agreed. At this point in RG3's last season, it wasnt widely thought he'd nearly be Luck's equal as far as a draft prospect. If one of the draft eligible QBs takes the leap from good to great before the season is out, then obviously thats who we should take.
If there isnt another QB after Teddy worthy of the 2nd pick, then I saw trade back. Some team will move up big for Clowney. We trade back, acquire a ton of picks. And I'd consider using one of those acquired picks in a trade for Cousins. Or draft a couple QBs of our own.

I would rather have Cousins with a 2nd than Bortles.
Bortles has some Gabbert in him. That INT today was Gabbert-esque. i.e. wouldn't step up because he feared the contact of the pass rush.
You know our fanbase has been mind raped by our past GMs when we have fans thinking we should start a rebuild with Cousins or Bortles at QB lol.
Better question: if we get number two, is it worth tying to trade up for teddy?

Unless its the Raiders I dont see it happening.

If we do the smart thing and strategically tank the season (make sure we lose to the Browns/ Rams when we play them), this likely won't be an issue.
Always trying to find a way to get a QB for the low, low.

This is how I can tell you've only seen 1 ucf game. Bortles has stepped into throws while taking a hit. He did it against penn state last week.
Wasn't an under throw either. He didnt notice the lb dropped and the pass should have been floated over him instead of on a line.

Boyd is plain and simple GARBAGE, almost as bad as that Hundley kid. SMH.
Lol people see Bortles play one game and now he is the hot name of the week LOL
People just because a guy is a great college QB does not mean he will be a franchise NFL QB, you people should know that most of you bash Tebow for this
on topic I would just pick a QB in the 2nd round if that happen, maybe a 3rd for Cousins

He is good but he does need another year. Still makes very questionable decisions.
