Blake has never looked as bad as he has this year, I think he picked up a lot of bad habits being mentored by Chad Henne and the fact that Blake already knew he really had no competition so there was really know pressure, ultimately led to his regression. I don't even understand why we kept Henne in the first place, can anyone name one positive trait that Henne could have showed Blake.

This also comes down to coaching understanding this and cutting ties with Henne and getting someone here for competition or someone who had at least somewhat of a successful career to help Blake.

Do you think it's over for Blake? And are we finally going to get rid of Henne?

Henne never mentored Bortles. That's not his job; coaches coach, players play. Or to put it the words of Torry Holt during his only season in Jacksonville: "Yeah, I'll mentor [the young WR's], I'll mentor them straight to the bench."

Blake learn habits from Chad Henne some way, they should have been released Henne

It's more likely that Bortles is just not that good

Blaming a backup QB for anything is pretty silly

Exactly, people refuse to accept the reality that Blake is bad because of BLAKE

Blake doesn't know how to throw a football or read a defense.

It's like having a mechanic not know how to use a wrench. A race car driver not knowing how to drive. A head coach not knowing how to teach.

Did Blake throw the ball ok last year?

Better than this year for sure.
This whole mentoring thing is nonsense. Hennes job is to know the plays if he's called upon.
yea chad is worthless and a terrible teacher.

Out of interest who are the other successful mentors in the league?
The ultimate Bortles delusion: Blame his understudy.

Nope. It's all on BB5.

Yeah, and I don't buy the lack of competition being a factor either. When's the last time Tom Brady faced any competition?
Blake Bortles not being able to throw a football is the issue.
It's not all Chad, its on coaching as well, most of the time when a new QB takes over, the old QB doesn't stay that long or doesn't gets resigned after that unless they were someone who had a successful career and the organization is just paying them back (and that's rare). Most of the time they are thru with him, they no longer need his services because they are not getting the results they wanted from him (Chad) , the main reason why they drafted Blake. But you see in the articles I posted, the coaching staff resigned Henne to mentor Blake, which if you really look at it could be the reason why he regressed (picking up/learning habits from a bum QB that was never successful at this level). Blake coming out of USF, he had a few bad habits and things he needed to change but this year he looks like a completely different person (sometimes he looks like Chad Henne/Blaine Gabbert out there with some of the terrible decisions). I'm just saying for the first two years we felt like we had our QB, now we're unsure. It had to come from somewhere because Blake was never this bad and this imo is one of the things that led to where we are at now with Blake.

It's not all about the competition, who did Tom Brady sit behind? He picked up habits from Drew Bledsoe. He got better because of that and the coaching staff. It wouldn't be on competition now, now its about Tom Brady's legacy so he is going to push himself.

That's what a backup position is supposed to be but if you look at these articles you can see that was his job. Now it's not all on Chad, that's on our terrible coaching staff for giving an unsuccessful QB that type of job.

Chad Henne is toxic. His offfield relationship with Blake probably unintentionally transferred all his habits into Bortles. Hennessey needs to be part of the purge that is about to happen.

If Bortles needs "mentoring" in his 3rd year......

ugh... I don't even feel like ranting.

Bortles is a grown [BLEEP] man. He needs to fix his issues or be gone. Blaming Henne for Bortles regression takes the blame from Bortles.

He isn't some college kid...
