Quote:Yeah its funny, look at the great teams in the league these days none of them are doing it with the number one pick. They are doing it with good drafts year in and year out.
GB- their QB was drafted at the end of round 1 has 1 a SB and they just have a history of good drafts
Pit.- their QB was drafted at middle of the 1st has one 2 SB and they have a history of good drafts
Sea.- their QB was drafted in the 3rd, same with them solid players every year in the draft
SF- their QB was drafted in the 2nd had the 1st pick and took a QB but he isnt even on the team anymore but they have stockpiled on good players threw the drafted that wasn't 1st overall.
NE- their QB was drafted in the 6th has won 3 SBs and the team has also had good drafts
Saints- their QB was drafted in the 2nd and they won a SB
Ravens- their QB was drafted in the middle of the 1st and they won a SB and they have also had a good history with solid drafts.
Giants- Eli was the first pick overall but one could argue their D carried them to the playoffs and I think they would of won the SB with Rivers or Big Ben who came out in the same year with those Giants teams
Raiders- 1st pick overall a QB selected and he is out of the league
Panthers- 1st pick overall a QB selected and Cam is decent but they would be better right now if the took AJ Green, Julio Jones, or JJ Watt in the 1st and took Colin Kapernick in the 2nd
Lions- 1st pick overall a QB Stafford is good but Calvin makes him look a lot better than he is and they have made the playoffs 1 time.
Colts- Luck and Peyton was a good deal for them at 1st overall but Teddy is no Luck or Peyton and it funny for the
See the trend here people? You don't need the number 1 overall pick and the number one overall pick probably 80% of the time doesn't even turn out to be the best player in that draft. You just have to hit on your picks year in and year out.
Well said. Maybe if we get the 1st pick in the draft for 6 years running we'll build a good team. Losing is for losers. The best scenario is this team starts winning and gains confidence, building strength through good drafts without the #1 pick.

We can argue whether having the #1 pick is better or if this team building momentum is better, but what we do know is every player is auditioning for next year and they are going to play as hard as they can (for the most part) so you might as well root for your team to win. You have no control over it anyways. I can't go to the game and hope we play badly. I just don't know how as a fan, that is possible regardless if you feel it is better for the future. Again, you have no control over the outcome anyways. Cheer for your team and wherever you land in the draft, draft good players.
There will never be another Andrew Luck and anyone wanting to wait for never are delusional. Mentalities like that netted a #2 overall pick getting owned. You need a QB, you draft one immediately.
we are not the only 0-3 team right now. Anyways how did this turn into a arugment about winning vs loseing. I was telling the truth, one win by this young team will build thier confidence up for this year, and so on. I'm not saying once we get our first win we are going to go on a huge long wiining streak, thats hard to do when you got the toughest schedle in all of the nfl. I was just saying 1 win will get the teams confidence up,and we would end up with at least 3 maybe four wins. I say as fans we should always rout for our team to win,and just let the pieces fall were they may for the draft. Note im not takeing anyones side about loseing,or winning just saying my opion as what we can do as fans. Plus the team really needs fan support right now if you live in jville kee going to the games,or we might become the london Jaguars.
I stick by this post still each, and every week. All it takes is one win. one win by this young team can really change things around.

Yep...all it takes is one win to ruin your chances for the top picks in the draft, I agree.,,,,
Quote:It's never a good idea to encourage losing. There are 53 other professionals on the team and one or more of them are going to be replaced by a college kid with no NFL experience but you wish them to lose! Do you think the players think as you?

Your first statement is true, but there are
not "53 other professionals." The team has 53 active players, 3 on injured reserve, and several more on the practice squad, and a lot of coaches.

If we hold Denver to under 50 can we count it as a win?
we don't play denver this week. we are playing the rams.
First off if Bridgewater is the real deal. I have no problem us drafting him. But no problem grabbing Clowney as well. However speaking for the people in the stands at the games. Losing stinks. And people pay their hard earned money to see a competitive team not constant blow outs.
So in week five have to say Lets win! Had it been 14 be different. But it is not.
Or 16 loses = Win depending on how you look at it.
To not get stuck with Lefty Junior.

Never said we were playing Denver this week. We may have a slight chance of beating the rams, but a single win isn't going to turn this team around. WAY TOO MANY WEAKNESSES!

ok ok to you not saying we play denver this week. I wasn't saying 1 win would turn the team into a playoff team,i was just saying 1 win can get the team more confidence in themselves on the field againest another team. Getting your first win of the year will build any teams confidence.
I just want to see some close competitive games.
I still say we just need that first win and the team will start winning a few more games. No were near super bowl, but we would end up with 3 to 4 wins. They just need that first win.
This franchise needs Teddy Bridgewater and 3-4 wins will not get him. I am fine with 0-16 if it leads to Teddy Bridgewater. Period. Certain posters can call me a loser for that opinion, they don't have to consider me a fan. I won't mind and I won't ever consider them any less of a fan for their opinion. The tune will change when Bridgewater comes to town. The kid is the real deal folks. He's going to being success to some franchise and I sure as heck hope it's this one.
I'm telling you we have our qb,he just needs his chance.

I enjoy your optimism Wolfie and commend you for it but the future at QB is not on the roster.
<p style="margin-left:80px;">He is o our practice squad and we will end up sighning him soon.
