Kind of  a bummer, but honestly, a seventh from Seattle is hardly any different than a compensatory pick. It's the very tail end of the draft. Would have been nice, but I won't lose any sleep over that loss, personally.

who cares? Seattles 7th rounder is practically approaching Mr irrelevant stage anyway.

oh no we suck again

Yeah, it's not a big deal.

Though it would have been nice to have it just for the sake of being able to have the rights of that player and not having to compete for him in free agency. Also could have been used as a piece if we wanted to trade up in the mid/late rounds.
bring him back

For the first time in years I actually like one of your posts.

It is not exactly at the very end of the draft because even if Seattles win the Super Bowl, there are still lots of compensatory picks after them. Those picks can't be traded so that number is fixed when they are assigned. But you are right that it is not much better than a CP if Seattle wins the Super Bowl.

Wrong. Because of the CPs, the Seahawks are not even close to Mr. Irrelevant no matter how far they go in the playoffs. Has a Super Bowl team ever picked Mr. Irrelevant the same year?
Another former Jaguars player is now on the Lions:

ALLEN PARK -- The Detroit Lions added one defensive tackle and dropped another on Wednesday, claiming D'Anthony Smith off waivers and releasing Justin Bannan.

Well...poop

Does anybody think the Seahawks cut Smith when they did to avoid losing their seventh round pick?

I only exist to please you. Smile

That's not how it works.
They were probably hoping he'd clear waivers and re-sign him without giving us a pick.

It would have been a comp pick, they don't lose their pick either way.
He is who we thought he was over rated like half of the Jaguar team if not more...

Sigh...
The guy would look like a beast in shorts, then get hurt or disappear when the lights went on.

That bike is whack...FYI.

If that is true, why do you drive me crazy almost every time you post anything?

I can't wait to get the 2013 back on my username.

How do you know teams never do that? I did not say it is supposed to work that way.

If the Seahawks wanted to keep him, they would not waive him. If they did not want to give us a pick, they would not agree to trade with us for an overrated busted player.

Considering Seattle is a Super Bowl favorite, there is not much difference between them and a CP.
