Post Game Persepctive- Seattle
This weeks post game perspective will be much shorter than usual. I don’t believe there is anyone on this board that truly believed we had a chance to win this game. This team is the worst team ever assembled. The lions spent years of being a joke in the league and now we are the modern day version of the lions.
Offense: As bad as the score indicates, I don’t believe it was a total failure. MJD finally crossed the goal line for the first time this season. There seems to be a lack of chemistry with many of our players, from the limited time we see them it very much appears as if we just have guys playing for a check. This line is still terrible, Rackley couldn’t start for any other team in the NFL. There was a reason that he played at Lehigh, not at a legit football school (thanks gene). I do expect this team to play better in week 5, the return of Blackmon and Lewis will open things up a little bit. If the turnstiles can stop spinning for 3 seconds things will get better. That being said, we wont challenge anyone this year. Some might think that we have a chance against the browns and chargers….only in the video games my friends.
Defense: I thought the Dline played pretty well today. I thought Lynch was going to have a great day running the ball but keeping him under 100 is actually something to be kinda proud of. Our linebackers and secondary looked like clowns out there. The second touchdown to Miller was pathetic, he was getting popcorn in the corner of the endzone and no one could find him. Im glad Evans finally got some significant playing time, but not because Lowery got hurt. You can be sure that this secondary will be blown up next year, I don’t see half of them making this team. Branch was as active as I have ever seen him, did the light switch come on or are we trying to give him the limelight to trade him too.
Post thoughts: We are who we are, we surely will own the worst record in the league by a significant margin . As bad as we are, we at least expected it this year and even next year. Things are much worse for the Giants, Vikings and Steelers. Not many of those fans saw 0-3 starts, welcome to the bottom guys. Ive seen so many topics about us trading players, so many people on this board are delusional. If you honestly think someone would give us a first for MJD then you should having your posting privelages provoked. At best, on a perfect day MJD is probably worth a 3rd…that’s a super stretch and im not sure we will get a deal done with anyone. I can see the Saints being the team to get things done at this point but still unlikely.
Draft thoughts: Most on here are calling for Teddy Bridgewater or Clowney as our pick, it would be nice to get either guy as both would be light years ahead of the guys on our team. If we are still the worst team in the league and are given the first pick in the draft, I don’t believe either one of those guys will be our pick….After watching plenty of sport shows and talk about the Richardson trade to Indy, it got me thinking. As long as Clowney stays healthy and gets his game on track he will be one of the most coveted guys in the last decade possibly. Someone will surely, sell their draft to come get him. Look at what Atlanta did for Julio, what the Skins did for RG3. Someone will overpay for Clowney, again as long as he stays healthy and continues to dominate. So unless we are 100% certain the guy at 1 isnt worth passing on, I don’t see us staying. This would allow our team to get multiple picks in multiple drafts, most likely multiple firsts and seconds. Seems crazy, sure but we have seen it before. Long way to go but I thought id share my thoughts. We need more than 6-7 guys, we could use a 12 person draft class.
Today's game with the Seahawks was the last Jaguars game I'll probably ever watch. (Unless they happen to play Seattle again.) I was a Jags fan from day one , growing up in Jacksonville it was the only game in town. BUT NOW, it's not worth it. They don't even look like the teal and black from the past. They look like amature players. MJD seemed shocked to get a first down on a lot of plays. There are 31 other more fun teams to watch on Sunday.
Teams that play ,draft and pay professionals to win excite me
. The Baguars like to draft punters because they punt a lot. The upcoming draft will shock you , when the Jags draft another "rookie" to the o-line or some other no name linebacker from a small school nobody's every heard of ( Remember Alahau ? ) and skip out on hiring good coaches like Mel Tucker because they are in need of a loser like Malarky to fit the city's style. You'll see more of the same until the team moves to London or Los Angeles. Hopefully then they can get some decent looking uniforms.
Winners watch winners, losers look at underachievers and laugh. Enjoy the comedy Bag wires.
Your team has just lost a fan for life. Good bye Jaguars. Thanks for the memories.

Were you really expecting the Jags to win this one? Hello... Seattle is arguably one of the better teams out there and we scored 7 more points than their last two opponents, combined. I'd say that's an accomplishment for a team that's in a total rebuild.
But if you feel the need to bail on your team because the Jags just aren't living up to your expections and should be the powerhouse of the AFC after just having gutted their roster, hey... hit the road. We don't need fans like you.
If MJD could lose some weight I think he'd be more like him old self.. that 3rd down reception he had where he plowed forward for a first down was impressive.
I thought Henne looked pretty decent given the circumstances. Chiefly, pathetic line play once again, and no offensive weapons except shorts. At least he is trying some deep balls and back shoulder passes.
Maurice is clearly not 100%, and a bad running game did not help one bit. No offense line, No receivers except shorts, No tight end play, 2 yards a carry at RB, it is amazing we scored what we did.
Can't blame the QB for this loss.
The defense was terrible, I thought the offense actually looked better than the defense. While the D line looked better, the linebackers and secondary were lost. Seattle could score at will. When Tavaris Jackson looks like a Manning brother, we got problems there.
Coaching/Playcalling, no real issues there, we kept them off balance and showed poise coming out for the second half and cutting their monster lead in half. There was no quit.
Bottom line, with Blackmon and Lewis back we might have scored more, but Seattle was going to score whenever they wanted so it would have made no difference.
Even with a franchise QB we would have lost big time in this game.Clearly our defense is very young, hopefully they improve by the time our messiah QB gets here or we don't win too many next year either. Yesterday we saw what a potent offense could do against our squad. It wasn't pretty.

From your post you appear to be a general "fan" anyway. You go to games to say you spent sunday at the game when talking aroung the water cooler with the guys at work and talk about drinking a 6 pack.....of 40's.
If you honestly thought we had a chance then its probably better that you go ahead and leave quietly. It takes courage to raise your hand when you are in the wrong class instead of just sitting there and taking it...

And here the door swings.....watch out.
I can see the passion in both the OP and the first respondent here on this thread and all i can say is, keep your heads up. It's a process.
Hope that helps.
Section8... Obviously never been in Everbank, Alltel, or even Jacksonville Municipal Stadium. No Section8 there.
I do believe section8 means you got out of military duties due to a suspension of belief in reality, to put it nicely.
Keep suspending that belief. We're pretty bad right now, yes, but we'll get better. Eventually. Even I believe that.
I must disagree. Gabbert was obviously the reason that Henne was throwing checkdowns on 3rd and long and that he couldn't throw a deep pass to save his life, and Gabbert is a QB. Therefore we can blame this loss on the QB, namely Gabbert.

I'm sure they're mourning the loss of you in the halls down at EverBank today.
No chemistry is one issue. Most of these guys haven't played together before or have for only a limited time. Those that have, the Oline specifically, are playing an entirely new scheme. The entire secondary were new guys yesterday after Lowery went out. Lots of stuff going on that some more time will help fix. Obviously it won't help the talent gap, but there are other things besides talent that are hurting this team right now.

I think we will look alot better on offense once this happens. Which should help our defense as well. I think we put some wins together after the bye week, and I wouldn't be surprised if we had a 3-4 game winning streak to close out the season.
This would suck for our draft position, but development is development.

I have to commend you. That was the best parody I've seen of a whiney, silly fan acting as if they are entitled to something.
I'll check the Giants, Steelers and Vikings message boards to see your terrific comedy bits. Thanks for the chuckle.

Good-bye..I hope there is not a spot for you on the bandwagon in a couple of years when the leadership gets this all turned around and we are a playoff team every year!!

I'm gonna miss seeing you in ole Section 8 of Everbank Field. Section 8 won't be the same without you.
I do love your quote "Winners watch winners" --- never heard that one before. Classic !!!
