Quote:Check again, Leary is starting for the most dominant OL in football. La'el Collibs would've been a top 10 pick if he weren't accused for mirdering someone, the fact that he was in a battle with Collins shouldn't be a slight to him.

He lost the starting LG spot to Collins, but only got it back because Collins is out for the season with an injury. Starting now or not, he's a backup. I agree about how good Collins is, but I still want a starter, not a backup.

I really like Menelik Watson of the Raiders. He is their starting RT and is an UFA at the end of the season. I believe he would be a great replacement for Parnell.

Leary is a real good guard.
Quote:Leary is a real good guard.

Then why was he beaten by Collins for the starting job? People also said Parnell was great too and he sucks.

Because Collins is better. Parnell was solid last year but yes he sucks this year.

Seriously? Did you miss the post about Collins being a top 10 pick had he not had off the field trouble?

"Wait... Jackson doesn't even start for the Broncos. I don't want another teams backup"

Ryan Schraeder of the Falcons is an option if Parnell is to be replaced. Won't come cheap, though.
I like the Wisconsin left tackle Ryan Ramczyk. Not in the top 10 though.

This is who I want.  Cut Parnell and sign Schraeder

It doesn't matter how good Collins is and trust me, I know how good the kid is. He was the #1 overall player on my draft board the year he came out, but I had him as a LT. Leary is still a backup and if you look at the Dallas O-Line, he is the weakest link, otherwise they wouldn't have moved Collins from his natural LT position, inside to LG. I don't want another team's weakest link.

If you had to choose, would you rather sign the worst player on the best OL or the best player on the worst OL?

Luckily there are 32 teams in the NFL, so I wouldn't have to make such a choice. I have other players to pick from. This hypothetical doesn't work.

They have Tyron Smith as LT so they arn't going to play Collins there. Leary would start on 90% of other teams. They prefer having tackles turning tackles into guard and centers at Dallas. Makes the line more versatile.

Travis Fredrick was drafted by Dallas as a 1st round Center and they used him at Center. Tyron Smith was an OT in college and Dallas drafted him to be a OT.  Zack Martin was an OG in college and was drafted by Dallas to be an OG. Doug Free was the same way. He was an OT in college and was drafted by Dallas to be an OT. La'el Collins was a LT in college, but the Cowboys used him to replace the weakest link on their O-Line.......... Leary.

You're missing the point. He's the weakest link of one of the best Olines in history.

Malik Jackson was the weakest link of that Broncos front 7... Is he a garbage player?

Zach Martin was a tackle in college, Leary was a tackle for most of his college career. Look at the guy who made the Dallas line, Bill Callahan , he prefers to make tackles into guards so they can defend on an island against pass rushers. He's doing the same at the Redskins, Schrieff was a college tackle who is now playing like an pro bowler at guard.

Leary is good guard, he just has bad knees.

I was referring to all 32 teams.

Has he been what we paid him to be? No.

My bad about Zack Martin. He was an OT in college. I got him mixed up with his younger brother Nick, who was an interior lineman at Notre Dame. You're right on that one.

As for Leary, you want a guy with bad knees? I'm sick of settling. I want to get premier players. Not necessarily superstars, but guys that can be counted on.

Its an option at least. Need to get this line fixed.
Not saying it would happen but I have seen Dolphins speculating that Branden Albert and/or Mike Pouncey could be cut next offseason to clear cap room.

Pouncey would be a bit intriguing.
