Ivory makes $4.8million this season and would give us $7million in dead cap if cut, so unless he's clearly worse than at least three other running backs, I can't see him getting cut.
This team has so much cap space I don't see them making decisions based on anything other than the performance on the field.
Yeah. 4.8 mil (actually 4.64 mil) is not "ridiculous" to this front office for their spell-back given their current cap situation and frequency of injury to RBs on this roster in recent years.
If he doesn't earn his keep in 2017 then they have an out clause in the offseason. Also his dead money figure drops to 3 mil in 2018.
He's worth keeping despite playing hurt and coughing up the rock a few times last season.
With fournette and ivory We gon be ballers, shot callers.. something something something...
I am interested to see where Yeldon fits in. I am sure he will see some 3rd down time in certain scneraio. I really think Fournette will be a better receiving back than they give him credit for.
Hope Ivory gets a decent amount of carries. He's an absolute beast and with a FB on the roster now he should be lights out like back in NYJ.
It's going to be a thing of beauty when Ivory and Fournette are running wild over the Tacks and the Clots!

He is an average back at best. Nothing special, he may end up being a good RB2 on some team, I would be slightly surprised if he makes the final 53.

Yet people are hyping up Ivory like he's something beyond average.. lol
Yeldon is better in every way, besides straight up trucking somebody.
If he had even a half way decent OL, he'd excel in this league.
I don't see how he doesn't make the 53 man roster, considering Fournette already has injury history and Ivory fumbles every other time he touches the ball.
Grant isn't anything close to a RB1, or RB2. He's a piece that needs a few touches here and there. He needs to be schemed into the Offense because he will never be an every down back. 10 touches a game is the absolute max for him and that's on his best day. Change of pace mismatch type of player who you hope the OC is good enough to scheme a few plays for.
^ speaking of Corey Grant he was at the store I work at the other day. First MVP Nortman came in, then Ramsey and Grant a bit later. I think they were probably all headed home from OTA's. Nice guys. Never want to talk football though because I figure I don't like talking about work when I'm not there either. Seen Myles Jack too. All really respectful, awesome people.

I agree. I'm excited about Fournette/Ivory running behind Williams/Bohannon. Also I don't think we've seen a healthy and motivated Ivory hopefully the competition will bring him back to contract year results.

Yeldon probably does have more long-term potential as Ivory probably hit his peak with the Jets. That said, Yeldon surely carries far more trade value, and we'd do just fine with 4net, Ivory and Grant.
Also we don't really want Yeldon on 3rd and longs as long runs are not his specialty. Ivory can actually spell 4Net with his power, but Grant provides a fantastic change-of-pace and truly is an ideal 3rd downs back provided he can pick up the blocking assignments.
You don't want to worry about any RB trying to run the ball on 3rd and long period, because you don't want to be in 3rd and longs to begin with. If there's some sort of discussion about that situation, then there's far bigger things to worry about if we're in constant 3rd and longs.
If that's the case, which RB on the field should not be the concern. The main concern should be why are we in that situation in the first place.
It would mean we're struggling to move the ball on 1st and 2nd down, which would be a far bigger concern.
The whole point of drafting Fournette that high was to keep 3rd downs to 3rd and short, as well as keeping Bortles fresh by not needing him to throw it around the field 40+ times.
Grant is too small to try and block people consistently, he'll be exposed there. He also goes down with little contact. Sure hes fast and should get a handful of touches every game, but that's about it.
Yeldon has the best hands and has the best blocking of all the RBs. He also has some wiggle and can easily make something out of nothing, which he did many times last year. He actually compliments Fournette's running style the best. Let Fournette pound on them and then let Yeldon give them a little shake.
It would be stupid to let Yeldon go because lets be real. Fournette's and Ivory's running style opens them up to injuries and it's only a matter of time before one, or both of them get banged up.

All good points, plus Yeldon is probably the best pass catcher among them. It's best to keep all four, but if there is a thought to trading any of them... outside fo 4net of course... Yeldon is the only one carrying any real value.
Yea Yeldon would be of most interest (younger than Ivory and wouldn't have a high price tag following him), but I don't believe there's any thought about moving on from any of the 4 imo. 3 of them could carry the full load at any time if needed and Grant could spell in for a couple game stretch if things got absolutely dire.
The time share is the only worry I have about our RB group and that's pretty meaningless in the big picture. That stuff will work itself out in time.
Prior to draft I mentioned it could work really well. If both Ivory and Fournette had he been our pick were in the back field. And the man who others claim is always wrong. Is right yet again... It must really get under some skin.
