So...just out of curiosity I scrolled down to the bottom to see who was currently active on the boards.  I saw Bing and Google.  Are those employees looking at the board?  Some kind of corporate bot?
Search engine bots would be my guess.

Yeah those engines have bot lurkers on most message boards. It's not a bad thing, really.  It ultimately should help direct searches to this board for relevant content if I'm not mistaken about their function.

(They were often in that list down there at the old board as well.)

Correct.  Search engines use "bots" to "crawl" websites and index content.
Bing does not suck. You are just stuck in a Google echo chamber because its your normal thing. Google is a first mouse thing.

Bing is trying hard to be as good as google.

Eh, I've had many bing searches that do not give me what I asked for, not even in the remotest sense.

It's great when you're searching for porn though.

I have to agree. As much as I don't like google, it seems to be the best search engine.
I'm glad we're still seeing them. I believe those are the search engine "worms" that "crawl" through all the web links.

I hope this means our posts continue to get top billing.

I initiated part of that earlier.  googlebot and bingbot will probably be around for a few days...

I never saw bing lurking on the old board but I remember google doing it alot. The funny thing was that Bing actually archieved more of the threads than google did when I couldn't log into the board.

Confused   Bing is great if you want to see alternate options to what you're really searching for.     Undecided
