The Bye, damn things gets us every year.

Honestly, its hard to say. I am anxious for the first game. I think that game will tell us alot about how this season is going to go. If we can manage to start the season out with a bang, i think the division is ours for the taking. Getting that first win against the Tinhorns would give us that jump imo. So i guess the Tinhorns would be the team that i most concerned about.

Yah know...... I thought that about last season....

We played the Pack tight... and had a chance at the end...
things were looking up, even after an L.

I've heard several accounts that indicate the team put a lot of emphasis on that Green Bay game last year, and when they came up short, it deflated them for weeks.

I wonder how a more experienced, better coached team would handle a similar disappointment.

Hopefully, we won't have to find out much this year.

What do you think will signal that things might be different this year?

Obviously a win would do it, but would anything short of a win at Houston give hope of better days to come?

Is there any way a week one win would leave you less than convinced of this team's prospects for success this year?

Wins would be the clearest indicator. No blow out losses would be the next. After the GB game week one, we followed it up by getting mauled by SD. Avoiding those not only would be a indicator of improvement, but i think it would keep the team from getting deflated like you said.

I would say anything less than a win would be pretty disappointing. A very close game from beginning to end that ends in a loss wouldn't be a death sentence( and by that i mean we don't drive back in garbage time from 20 points behind  to lose by 6.), but overall i think a win against Houston not only get the ball rolling on the season, but also give a jump start in the division.

I would say the only way that i would be worried after a win would be if we struggled a lot while the tacks and the clots absolutely maul whoever they play. Also if we get the win but have some key players get injured. That would certainly be a blow.
