I lived in PA and didn't know they had a team for at least a few years (I didn't follow NFL in high school. )
Diid you watch the '96 Playoffs?

This is no joke, I remember Kevin Greene being interviewed following the NFC divisional game that year and thinking "huh, there are new teams."

Keep in mind,  I'm from PA and didn't start following the NFL until I was in college. Admittedly,  I didn't follow the NFL closely until I moved here. I adopted the Jags because I believe in supporting the home team.  I have grown to love them more than any other team I follow.
I was working down in St. Augustine that day. The radio station I was tuned into (probably the classic rock station Lex and Terry were on then) broke the news. I remember stopping at the Avenues Mall on the way home to pick up some gear. I still have one of the T-shirts I bought that day. It's the old lawsuit logo and of course, it doesn't fit anymore.
Not to be too nitpicky, but Jacksonville didn't get the team in October 1993. It was November 30 1993.

Charlotte got the team in October, and the owners waited another month to announce the second one. They were actually waiting for St. Louis to get their act together, but that never materialized. I don't think they had much interest in Baltimore, since the Redskins laid claim to that territory. To this day there are people in St. Louis and Baltimore who believe the Jags should be their team.

I was living in Atlanta. Someone told me Jax got a team, and I didn't believe it. I thought St. Louis had it. Only when I called my dad, and heard him screaming in joy, with the TV news announcement in the background.
High School freshman, watched it on First coast news or whatever back when Dan and Donna were still a thing.
I was living in Indianapolis at the time. I am sure I am the only person in Indiana who stopped on their way home from work to buy campaign to celebrate the announcement. LOL
I was working at Publix, the one on Blanding and 295 (I don't think that store is around any longer). The announcement came on a tv that we had in the Deli. I remember thinking that I had to be in the stadium for opening day.

Donna was a thing... Tim Deagan proved that to us.
Was attending Fletcher middle at the time. When the principal announced it over the PA system, everyone went nuts. One of my teachers went, "YES!! I don't have to be a Dolphins fan anymore!"
