Quote:Open defiance can't be tolerated. Bradley has to do something about it or it'll spread.

Well, looks like he's officially lost the team.

Most of the Jaguars players know that the end is nearing for Gus Bradley as the team's HC,  barring something that even the vast majority of the most optimistic Jags fans aren't expecting.   Keeping everyone on the same page is arguably going to be Bradley's greatest challenge for however long he remains the team's HC this season.   These type of situations certainly are challenging for fans and everyone associated with the team that's going through something like this.

What really stuns me is players are lashing out at fans and reporters, but are afraid of what coaches might do if they went to the sourced of the problem. Players should go to the coaches first to work out their issues, then make it public after a personal or team meeting, I hope Gus Bradley's replacement will be a disciplinarian and hires assistants players want to work for.

There might be many issues in play here.   The following come to mind as some possibilities:

  1.   There's not enough accountability from the Head Coach.

  2.   The players don't have enough confidence in the coaching.

  3.   There's not enough veteran leadership,  especially from winning organizations.

  4.   The players sense that a major shakeup is coming beyond the OC being fired.

A veteran from a winning team joined the Jaguars, but he did not take on a leadership role in Denver. Malik Jackson's problem is not being on a losing team like this before.

It will not be long before we start calling Jalen Ramsey a leader on the defense if people listen to his trash talk and he backs it up. But first he needs to cut down on penalties.

One thing that really bothered me today was seeing less emotion from guys wearing teal. After the pick six, Bortles made a half smile while walking casually to the sideline has if nothing happened. Part of football I love to watch is the body language when something really good or bad happens. When players seem to be going through the motions and not trying their best to get the job done it is clear the coaches lost them.

Some veteran players are better equipped to be leaders than others.   Considering what the Jaguars are paying Malik Jackson,  they need more from him than just good play on the field.

I still believe that Jalen Ramsey,  despite having a good start to his NFL playing career,   would benefit greatly from a veteran DB mentor who has had a highly accomplished NFL career.

The opposite reaction was Vikings QB Sam Bradford throwing his helmet to the ground on the sideline after Redskins OLB/ DE Preston Smith had a 4th QTR zone drop interception off Bradford.    That's passion!

During the Chargers blowout in Week 2, DE Jared Odrick had a temper tantrum that included throwing his helmet on the sideline. His complaint was being called offsides when an offensive lineman moved first. It was just that kind of game - frustration keeps building up and is going to overflow at some point.

Somebody like Richard Sherman? It is a great idea if his mentor does not have yellow flag syndrome.

This team is in shambles.
Henderson used to get slapped in the face on purpose, made him play better. Maybe Marks should try to be more like Henderson right now.
