Why not comment about Dede's talent?
Cause I'm not ready to claim that a rookie WR going against 3rd stringers is the next coming of Jerry Rice.

The Westbrook pick was a head scratcher for me -- but I hoped his upside would make me forget my concerns. It has.
He's the real deal. Dynamic play maker with return ability. I can't wait to see he and Lee on the field together....
You won't see he and Lee on the field together. You might see him and Lee on the field together, though.

so question... if westbrook was hurt enough to visit a specialist.. why is he playing in a 4th preseason game? Assuming it was a groin/core muscle injury since that is the specialist he saw, why are we having him risk further injury?
Obviously the Dr. said he doesnt need surgery, but Marrone even said Wednesday he wasn't moving around as well as he had hoped, why is this guy not being rested to heal?

He likely wasn't hurt as badly as we were assuming when we read about the visit.
You know - many of these types of injuries require a decision by the player to "play through it" when cleared to do so by the doctor. OR - they can elect to fix it now but miss playing time.
Westbrook probably chose option one.
but again, it was the 4th preseason game, why even let him choose to play through it?
Obviously if he is injured in any way, there is more than likely a chance it can be made worse, I just dont understand letting him play a meaningless pre season game injured

I could see playing him for two or three series to gauge how well this phantom injury will or won't hold up to live reps, but I do believe they should have pulled him sooner.
I would never have had him out there in the second half.

He good.
I would take an OL right now over Westbrook - It's a disaster out there
I know D-West has been flashy. I'm just as excited as the next guy about what he can do but having OL help might actually have been more beneficial in the long-run of this season and future seasons, but OL's don't do cute stuff.

I hated the pick because I read Dede Westbrook (lowercase d FYI) has character issues - as in legal trouble.
No we didn't.
(Since you like to correct people FYI)
So we did not pick Cam Robinson in Round 2 and Dede Westbrook in Round 3? I watched both rounds in the draft.

Smoot in the third.
Westbrook in the fourth.
Westbrook will be our best WR in short order. He was the best WR in college and it's carrying over to the pros.
He does look like speed is easy to him.

Yes.
He knows how to control his speed and gain separation, too. I sure hope he stays healthy and out of trouble.
If so, he will be a big time help for us.

I think most people were complaining about the Jags selecting Duwane Smoot at the top of the 3rd round over Dan Feeney who will likely be starting Guard in San Diego.

bingo
When he gave it a little extra juice to separate and get to the ball...Oh my, haven't seen that in a while.

That is why Caldwell needs to go as had a lot more time on this draft.
