Sorry for posting late this week. Here are the Week 11 CFP rankings:

Washington replaced TAMU at the #4 spot. The top 3 did not change.
All of the top four teams are undefeated now because TAMU played itself out of it.
I hope so bad to see Alabama vs Michigan
Wish they could make the playoff at least 6 teams. Top 2 get 1st round bye

In the CFP''s first season, everybody was crying about TCU and Baylor being omitted just because Ohio State had a conference championship game to play in. Fans wanted an eight-team playoff format.
This year, two top 10 teams are in the same division (Big 10 East) and have to meet on November 26. That also happened in 2006, when Ohio State was #1 and Michigan was #2. The difference now is there's a CCG to play. Michigan can win in Columbus, lose in Indianapolis, and
maybe clinch a playoff berth. That would depend completely on Washington losing the Pacific 12 CCG unless the Huskies somehow get their first loss before then. No doubt about it; a bigger playoff format would help the Wolverines this year.
If Pittsburgh beats Clemson today, anyone who says Clemson is not overrated is just confirming to me again he only thinks Ohio State is overrated because he hates the Buckeyes. Pittsburgh is unranked, so a loss to the Panthers would be, if it happens, identical to Ohio State losing at Penn State last month.
I'm curious as to how much shakeup this will actually cause? #2,3,4 are all 1 loss teams now.
Ohio State is still in some trouble in regards to the Big Ten.
Even if the Buckeyes beat Michigan and win out, they still can't win their conference if Penn State wins out. Penn State plays Michigan State and Rutgers. We all know anything can happen, but MSU and Rutgers are not very stiff competition for the Nittany Lions this year.
To win the Big10 East:
-Michigan wins out,, they win it.
-Penn State wins out + Michigan loses a game, Penn State wins it
-Ohio State wins out + Penn State loses a game, OSU wins it.
The Buckeyes are in a tough spot. They could beat Michigan and actually vault Penn State into the title game if Penn State wins their next two games.
Michigan and Penn State are the two teams in the best shape right now.
Lamar Jackson (future Jaguars qb) and Louisville will beat Alabama in the championship game
^Louisville is in a tough spot too.
They cannot win their side of the ACC unless Clemson were to lose against Wake Forest.
It's going to be very interesting seeing who the final 4 teams are.
You can't put Ohio State and Louisville in the playoffs if they don't even win their conferences (even though they are 2 of the best teams with only 1 loss on their record). Can you?
It's going to be very interesting.

No chance Louisville gets in the CCG without a miracle next week. That would have to happen before anyone thinks about putting them in the playoffs.
As we discussed in detail before, two Big 10 teams can get in the playoffs if Washington does not win the CCG. People would rather see Ohio State than Colorado. But if Michigan wins in Columbus, Ohio State is done.
I was reading an article on ESPN that was talking about Penn State.
If they win out (against MSU and Rutgers) and Ohio State beats Michigan, then PSU wins the Big10 East.
It's going to be very hard to put a Big10 team in the playoffs if that team didn't even win their side of the conference.
I'm hoping it all works out for Ohio State. I think they are one of the best teams in the country. But, I think they'll at least have to win their side of the conference though.
*side note- with Michigan's loss yesterday, the game between them and Ohio State just became even bigger than it already was. The loser of that game is officially OUT of any playoff hopes with 2 losses.
You have Penn State's schedule backwards. Ohio State plays against Michigan State next week.
This thread is the only place I read anything about Penn State possibly staging an upset in the Big Ten East. You would think if the Nittany Lions really had a chance, people would have been talking about them ever since they beat OSU.

All of this ^^. Funny that a Big 10 team HAS TO BE INVOLVED.

I don't know if he's right but someone laid it all out for you on how PSU has a realistic chance.
After a quick glance at the standings he looks to be correct. All three are 6-1 in the conference and PSU has the win over OSU.

Huh?

What's funny is a college football fan thinking a Big 10 team should not be involved.

The Nittany Lions were unranked until they beat the Buckeyes. The only other possible upset that could put them in the top 10 would be Michigan. Do you really think the CFP committee would want to put PSU in the playoffs?

Unless I misunderstood he was talking about them winning the B1G. That's what I was talking about and that was pretty obvious.
Quote:Wut
You know wut...
Yeah. So the best 4 teams in the country MUST include a big 10 school that may or may not win their conference? That's wut.

Don't be dumb. The Big Ten has 4 teams in the top 12 and possibly 3 in the top 7. They deserve a bid.

MJF:
ESPN.com in their NCAAF section has it all written out about the Big10 and Penn State.
If Penn State wins out (they play Rutgers and Michigan State) and Ohio State beats Michigan, then Penn State wins the East due to their conference record and head to head victory over the Buckeyes.
The Buckeyes need to win out and need help from a PSU loss.

However, if Ohio State beats Michigan, the CFP committee would rather put the Buckeyes (who will have beaten three top 10 teams in conference play), than a team that started the season unranked. This thread is about the CFP, which does not have a conference champion requirement for team selections. Seriously, do you think just because OSU did not win the East (if that happens), Penn State is a better team?
