Had power throughout the game. Hurricane coverage was on the main CBS channel in Orlando but they had the game on an alternate channel in standard def, so I did get to watch the entire game. Still have power ... so far.

Best game I've watched in a long time. If this is an indication of the difference between Marrone and Gus then the Jags have finally made a good coaching choice.

Allen Robinson's injury was the only downside. As bad as that is, the Jags have been relatively injury free compared to most other teams so far. Cole just needs to fix his dropsies.

The OL was much better than expected. The run blocking wasn't great, but good enough, and the pass blocking was solid. Some credit has to go to Fournette for making the pass rush hesitate and play action to work. We didn't have that last year.

Houston has a really bad OL, and only one receiver. The Jags didn't do it (didn't need to), but other teams will double Hopkins every play, so I don't see Houston having much offense this season.

Campbell was amazing. The whole defense played well.
I have never been one to jump the gun on praising people
Upon rewatch, two players really stood out to me as playing even better than I thought they did.

Ngakoue and Fournette.
All though this focuses on Savage it's pretty interesting regarding the Jaguars pass rush:

I love it. Wish we could face that O-Line every week.

Good analysis on Savage too.

Great stuff.  I liked the one where the entire offensive line had been bull rushed back into the quarterback.

great link lol
Just got power back on the Southside. I noticed something before the game that I heard Mike Dempsey comment on the other day. JJ Watt was hyperventilating on the sidelines before the game even started. He couldn't get a breath. They showed him dousing himself with water before the game, and it wasn't even hot.

The Texans, and especially Watt, put a lot of pressure on themselves to deliver a beat-down for flood-ravaged Houston. The thing is, 2 weeks of disrupted routine + physical and emotional exhaustion takes its toll. Also, the Jags had their own concerns about the conditions in Florida and the people riding out the storm back home. Monday and Tuesday without power was a lot easier to handle because Jags radio was a happy, happy place.

Back to the game, when the Jags offense didn't implode on that first drive, and they actually took the lead with a FG, I knew they were gonna win and I hadn't even seen the defense play yet. I can't say enough about the effort by the whole team. This defense could be scary, which takes a lot of pressure off the offense to be perfect. But the offense can bring its own kind of pressure with Fournette and Ivory. If teams don't come ready to tackle, our RBs will embarrass people. Marrone is a good coach and it was awesome seeing Keenan on the sidelines. I think this can be a playoff team this year and in the years to come.

As to the Titans, they will have this circled as a must-win. But I think our D will keep us in most games. When you hold teams to 1 or 2 scores a game you can win lots of games with good special teams play or by getting a late turnover, sack or call in your favor. Or just dumb luck - let the other team give you the game, it happens often enough. If the Jags can scratch out a win against the Tacks, that would be huge, just as big as the win in Texas as far as impact on the season and the division.
