We just aren't used to seeing barely good enough. I expect this line to be very inconsistent this year. Today was a good day and a good start, though.

You'd be unhappy about winning the lottery because you have to pay taxes on the winnings right?

The team overall did very well today. Give credit where it's due. We do need to see how we fare against other teams having better days than the Texans did today. We do need to see how consistent this team can be.

But man, for week 1 you can't ask for much more. Enjoy the win!

Also, looking at it by the eye test, Fournette did not get very many easy yards. He earned almost every one of them. Again, there were no gaping holes. I'm glad they performed well, but let's not go all hyperbole here and pretend that they are anything, but what they are; a below average line with a couple of good players which can occasionally, collectively, put together a good game. The unit improved in pass protection last season and it looks to have carried over. We still need two new guards and a RT.

The O Line was not a problem today. Save your complaining for another week maybe? As a matter of fact, maybe give some kudos to the rookie LT who played very well. Or the line giving up no sacks. Or the hustle that was apparent on several/most plays (Fournette is just a beast and outran his blockers)...which is also awesome by the way.

You must have reading problems. Nowhere did I complain about how our line played. Nowhere did I say it was a problem today.

Cam Robinson is a potential stud. I wanted us to trade down in the first and draft him. Brandon Linder is a top 5 center or guard. Our guards aren't very good. Cann was a pick that I loved when it was made, but he has disappointed. Omameh is what he is - a journeyman who offers solid depth. Parnell is a very middle of the road tackle, giving him the benefit of the doubt that he played injured last year.

But you can go ahead and vote all five of them into the Pro Bowl after one decent game, collectively, if you would like. I know how knee jerk you are.
The most important aspect of the win today is that the players believe in themselves, they believe they can win, and they believe in the process
As far as TC is concerned - I feel he and Caldwell are not free of blame regarding the O-Line.  That line exceeded expectations greatly tonight, but the Albert signing was clearly not researched thoroughly and I still feel a guard in the third made more sense than Smoot.

Many here were quick to blame Coughlin for being on board with keeping Marrone, Hackett and Wash.

Where are those folks now?

Hackett called a great game despite having issues on his offensive roster.  Wash kept his foot on the gas. No (well very little) soft zone.
Marrone has clearly instilled a greater level of discipline and knows how to make in-game adjustments.

I think this F.O. deserves credit for keeping these three coaches despite popular opinion wanting them jettisoned for fresh blood.
(yes, I know the TC hire was announced the same day as Marrone's but he clearly signed off on it)
