The Only thing that makes me happy after another Home Loss is my favorite cat sweater.......

There is certainly still hope that we'll see better play from this team, but I can assure you that every opponent we face the rest of the way this season is penciling that game in as a win for them.  Nobody respects the offense, and this is a team that isn't even capable of coming back from a 3 point deficit, so if they get behind, game over.

The sad thing here is that they're starting to lose the fans, and this bunch has been pretty darn loyal through a decade of losing.  They're savvy enough to recognize almost instantly after the first series or two which Jaguars team they're going to see that particular day.  When Tennessee went up 6-3, there were people in my section saying the game was over, and I couldn't actually disagree with them based on what I was seeing on the field.

2017 is nothing more than a series of moral victories at this point.  I don't care how easy the schedule looks, this team will find predictable ways to fall on their face at every turn, and there's really nothing to do about fixing that until the NEXT off season.  Then we can be filled with hope for 2018, probably to be disappointed once again.

Well said. I can't blame the fans for not showing up, even after last weeks win. I know a lot of people considered that game a fluke and said I'm not falling for that trap. Let them do it 2 weeks in a row and I'll believe it. And in typical Jaguar fashion, they put on a disgusting performance.

It's sad to be honest, because this fan base is very loyal, more loyal than most. When the fans can predict what team will show up somethings wrong.

I will be at the game week 4 at MetLife stadium and I would think that would be a win but not with this team. It wouldn't surprise me this team lost by double digits.

If only that sweater could predict the weather.

It helps to have a neighbor's cat to stalk as well.  Then all is right with the world, AND you get free weather reports.

I wonder if cats can file for restraining orders?

I know it's crazy. We will be lucky to win 4 games this year and some on here talking about cakewalk.

By the way, Week 4 is not going to be an easy game against the Jets.

I agree with the second half of your statement. The Jets can stop the run. This team is going to struggle against any team that it can't run against. I think we win that one, but it certainly isn't a lock.

Yet, you see other teams slap our WR in the face mask before a ball arrives, no call. The Late hit on Bortles, no call..  We have been "pick played" a ton  uncalled in the Manning days, we get called whenever we try it once in a game.

If we can just limit the penalties the best we can, this team can be competitive. The offense had 4-5 consecutive drives that really left you scratching your head in terms of penalties and QB decision making. I think we rebound this week and will our way to 2-1. The Ravens defense is really good though.

Highlighted is what I've noticed for a long time. Its very aggravating and frustrating to watch. Last week, Hopkins pushed off every single play against Bouye. No call, but as soon as Bouye shows a little physicality, he gets called.

Queue the NFL specialist that says.....

"Good teams get those calls. Jaguars haven't been a good team so they wont get those calls."

Really?

Has Houston really been a "Good Team"?

Ask Yanick how his pockets feel about that football play he made on Watson last week.

Now ask Orakpo how his pockets feel about that late hit on BK5.

Neither QB is playing for a premier caliber team. Only difference is JJ Watt has more commercials than anyone in the Jags organization. But that hit was on Watson.
This is true
Even if we lose to the Ravens, we can get to 2-2 if we beat the Jets, thats not a bad start

But even better would be, we need Texans to lose to the Pats this week and Titans to lose to Seattle

Then week 4 Texans and Titans play each other one would be 1-3, and we can still bet tied for division lead at 2-2 with the winner of that game
How much is Ramsey gonna get hit with for the bush league hit on Walker? That was the worse offense in the game and really weak. It won't be forgotten based upon what Derrick Henry said post game.

What are they gonna do about it? Fight him lol

They didnt even throw Ramsey way the whole game unless MM was throwing the ball away, teams are scared of the dude.

I don't think you need to worry about that Texans loss. Pencil that in.

Now Seattle has been playing some bad football as of late on the offensive side. Defense is still nasty though.

Yesterday was one of those days. It is important, however, to remember we are even now: 1 AFCS win, then 1 AFCS loss. This puts us tied with the Titans and Texans at 1-1 . . . with the Colts being 0-2 this week.  No AFCS team is 2-0, so we are not falling behind the Tacks yet. There is still a mathematical chance we will never fall behind the Tacks. You just have to think about what went right on Sunday and think about how we can apply those strength s and game plans to beating a team that nearly lost to us last year. By doing that, you give yourself higher hopes for better games, starting with the Ravens, instead of spending all week fearing we will suck and do everything wrong, etc. just because our game yesterday was terrible. then there is the fact three other teams can lose in the U.S. while we are in the U.K.

If you don't believe me, read the schedules for each AFCS team. We get the Lambs, Cardinals, 49ers, Bungles, Brownies, Jets, Tinhorns, and Tacks once and Colts twice after London against the Ravens (not in that order). We can win the division without beating the Seahawks, 49ers, Cardinals, or Lambs, but there is no reason to want the Jaguars to lose a game.

Your choices are be miserable the rest of your life because nothing we do is good enough to make you happy (which only causes consequences, not benefits, to you and other forum members) or you can have fun talking about the good things that happen and remind yourself a blowout loss in Week 2 did not cause our playoff dreams to go down the toilet.

dont worry babe, we gonna get those tacs next time!

No chance of that happening. All of those teams know we have the talent to beat them. They know we have some advantages, especially on pass defense.

It doesn't matter how good the defense is. Bortles could have worn down the 1986 Bears defense with his ineptness and lack of talent.
You know when FBT is showing signs of fatigue with watching this team things are bad.
The sad thing is that with a relatively soft schedule, we will probably get a few meaningless wins which will put us out of the running for one of the top QB's, or we'll have to give up a king's ransom to move up.

Then again, given Caldwell's history of top 5 draft picks (Joeckel, Bortles, Fowler) - what difference does it make.

With the Jags string of bad luck, Bortles will tear his ACL and be owed $19M next year, which means there isn't enough cap space to make a run at Alex Smith or Jimmy G, and we'll barely have enough to re-sign Telvin and ARob.

There is no such thing as a meaningless win in the regular season. If 2018 really is Year of the Quarterback (as many people are calling it now), we don't need a high draft pick to do something about it. And we get revenge against Tennessee in Week 17, which is obviously important to any Jaguars fan.

Why are you complaining about Dave Caldwell's history of top five draft picks - a group of four that includes one of the NFL's best cornerbacks, Jalen Ramsey?

Only JDub could possibly think that hitting on 1 of 4 top 5 draft picks is a good thing.

And yes, regular season wins are meaningless when you're out of playoff contention and are simply playing for draft position at that point.

A true Jaguars fan would know that, but when you're also the fan of the Packers and Broncos, you aren't a true Jaguars fan.
Because of my wife's business...the tacks game was the only one we could attend together.
We were excited and anticipated at least a good football game after the 'horns game.
And hopefully a home win.
Sadly, same old Jags showed up....dumb penalties, an error prone QB and an opponent that was better prepared.

It's going to be a long season.
