Signed,

Jimmy Smith

Let's hope so.

NH3...
This is a good move for the red zone alone, he is a much bigger threat to catch a jump ball than anyone we have left.
FO just like the name Jalen/Jaelen. Strong Myrick Ramsey. We might have the most J-Lynns in da league.
Talking to Texans fans it sounds like he's great at just about everything aside from actually catching the ball. He's also been caught smoking pot.
Has the league officially awarded the Jags Jaelen yet?
Loved him at ASU, wanted him in the second or third round that year. Very happy to see if he can turn it around.

Most these plays smoke pot, he just go pulled over while smoking it, as long as he's not a drug head like Randy Gregory he will be fine.
Caught smoking the pots....

turrible.
Jags need a big receiver who can grab contested passes like Robinson. Let's be realistic about Strong due to his lack of success so far, but he seems to be the best guy available to fill this big need.
This guy has a lot of talent. it's a great move in my opinion because it's low risk, high reward.

Strong hail Mary catch.
Strong had a very good combine when he was drafted, 4.44 on the 40 yards, 42 vertical jump. In the league he had problems getting separation, his production has been quite bad.

I guess we hope to be able to put some 50/50 balls up for him a bit just like we did with ARob with the difference that ARob proved he could catch those while Strong has everything to prove at the NFL level. (and hoping he doesn't get suspended again)

I don't hate the move but I'm not expecting much out of it (I have more hope for Mccaffrey actually), I still think Bryan Walters could have been considered as he rarely drops the ball, can get separation and Blake has thrown some of his best balls to him in the past.

Let's hope this guy can help us.

LOL at the Colts defenders on that play.

I remember when Jaelen was mentioned in the HBO Hard Knox series about the Texans. With him he was doing all the right stuff, but drops were a major issue at the time. At the time it looked like he had started to turn things around and was catching the ball consistently, but from what I hear drops may still be an issue. His speed and route running, etc, tho are said to be great.
I thought it's time for a quick look at the Jaguars current WR situation.

As I see it, we have...

WR1
(split-end): Marqise Lee, Arrelious Benn, Jaelen Strong
WR2
(flanker): Allen Hurns, Keelan Coles, Max McCaffrey
WR3
(slot): Allen Hurns, Marqise Lee

Practice Squad: Larry Pinkard, Jaydon Mickens

Injured Reserve: Rashad Greene, Shane Wynn, Allen Robinson

In other words, if go three wide I'm thinking you'll see Hurns or Lee in the slot with someone else taking over outside.
Did Strong find his passport?

The biggest help we have coming is the guy you forgot.

Westbrook is eligible to return  - if he passes the physical in week 8 - he can play week 9.

Three wide sets so far have all had Hurns in the slot with Lee and Benn, or Lee and Cole outside.

Oh yeah. Westbrook is the Jaguars player designated for return. Is it the rule now that teams can only designate one player for return? I was thinking teams could designate as many as they want, but I just read a quip saying only one player.

I was looking for a good sight that simply lists the players on IR, and failed to find one anywhere online. I thought I found one for the entire league, but they weren't even listing Dede. What is the deal with the league refusing to post IR lists?  In past years they would include the IR on the official roster page.

Two players can return and they don't need a designation beforehand.

Quote:In 2017, teams will have the same leeway, but with two players instead of one. That way, unlucky teams struck by the injury bug will have more opportunities to field a competitive team as the season winds down. Rather than shutting down a star player for the season if he needs 10 weeks to rehab an injury, teams can now hold out extra hope he’ll return in time for a playoff push.

Strong will not fly with the team as he continues rehabbing his hamstring injury.
