I think Dave throws most of his darts at the "most need" board rather than the "BAP" one.

That's not what I said though.

He definitely does in the early rounds but even then he took Joeckel instead of Johnson, Bortles instead of Carr, and Fowler instead of Beasley. You could easily argue that BAP and need could have met at our pick Dave just whiffed.

yea you're right, I read it wrong at first, but on a quick second glance, it's just as dumb as I thought it was. check my edit on that post.

edit: and how many teams passed on JJ Watt? How many teams passed on Carr? I could go on and on. hindsight is always 20/20
Yeah, I could tell from the start that you didn't want to have an honest and intellectual conversation about it...which is wise when the evidence is so stacked against your side. It's fine though it's not a Dave sucks thread I let you nitpick a minor point of the overall post into derailing the thread so I apologize to everyone else.

There's nothing honest and intellectual about it. You're using hindsight as your opinion, thinking it's gospel or something. I could waste my time and rip apart every team in history, for every draft move they didn't make in past drafts and preach it as facts. The reality is that nobody cares. We can all go back and look at drafts and say "if they only did this, or if they only did that".

You think Tavon Austin was a good pick, that says more than enough about your opinion honestly.
Better than Joeckel =/= good. I can't decide if your continual mischaracterization of my post is cognitive dissonance or intellectual dishonesty. Either way it's inaccurate and annoying so I'm done. Have a good night.

To bring it back to topic in summation: Arob is good. Dave hasn't drafted very many good players. Keep Arob.
Maybe just use a little hindsight 20/20, that seems to fit your bill.

What would your offer to him be?

Also, I'm curious why you want to leave out the 2016 draft so bad?

Ramsey is a flat out stud. Myles Jack is coming into his own and has a very high upside. Ngakoue is only building off of what was a very good rookie season. Why is this draft class being left out of your argument/opinion of Dave?

I'd franchise him and make him prove his health again if he wouldn't take an injury discount in the 13-14 mil range. He'll probably want something in the 16 mil range that Hopkins got and he was on his way to getting.

He was a Pro Bowl snub in 2015. Remember when a lot of people - not just Jaguars fans - said he should have been selected over Calvin Johnson?

Allen Robinson has been the team's #1 WR when healthy since he was drafted. Nobody is trying to say he is a poor man's Odell Beckham, but his ability to make tricky 50-50 catches in tight coverage is unmatched on this team. Marqise Lee is terrible at it. Allen Hurns has a different skill set. It is just not the same without Robinson.

I don't use an "accolade" determined mainly by fan voting to determine a players worth. You don't consistently win ball games counting on 50/50 balls being caught.

I'm not against keeping Robinson. I'd even give him a 1 year "show me" deal coming off injury with a NEW QB throwing him to ball. It's a win/win.
I love AR but when Westbrook comes back he will be our number 1 WR in short order and one of the top in the game. Bank on it!

I could see it. Westbrook was a first round talent that had some personal life issues knock him down the boards.
I don't think we keep both AR15 and Lee this offseason... so because of the injury we may let AR walk.
Either way, him or Lee opposite Westbrook with Hurns and Cole I still feel pretty good about our WR situation if we can get the QB settled.

Agree, Hurns will be here next year.  Lee will be gone and I think we franchise AR.  It's crazy I didn't even know Dede entered the draft.  I think he was the best WR in the draft and was a Heisman finalist.  His skill set is like a Marvin Harrison or a Torry Holt imo.  He gonna be good if he keeps his head on straight
What's sad is Lee was my favorite pick in that draft just injuries early on I feel is why he never lived up to his potential. Of course Bortles didn't help

Both of them are awful, but Austin has never had more than 500 yards in a single season as a top pick.. I'm not going to bother reading the rest of your drivel.

Yay! Someone spelled drivel correctly!
Dede Westbrook is OBJ 2.0, so when he comes back he will push AR for that #1 spot.

Right now AR is our #1

AR is on IR and will be a FA at season end so there is no guarantee we will see him in a Jags jersey again.  Westbrook is coming for that top spot like it or not
