Colvin has been pretty solid when healthy. It's a mismatch a cb against a tightend. He should of never been covering walker.

Who should have been covering Walker?

I am sure some big cornerbacks are better at covering tight ends than Aaron Colvin is.

I am sure some big cornerbacks are better at covering tight ends than Aaron Colvin is.

It's tradition to have a safety or a linebacker covering a tight end.  The reason being, Tight ends are much bigger and out muscle conerbacks who are typically smaller.  Most LB's and Safety's have the size and height to deal with tight ends.

That's what I thought, but some safeties are former cornerbacks.

I wonder what the coaches were thinking when they decided a slot corner should cover the tight end.

I think Jack should have been on Walker. He was on him once for sure and Walker made the catch on a perfectly thrown pass.

Just wanted to bring this thread back to have my rightful serving of crow. I’d always liked AC, but let doubt creep in after the tack game. (Though I did acknowledge it was too early, he was coming off injury, and I was overreacting.)

Regardless, dude balled out yesterday, probably the best full game I’ve seen him put together in a Jags Jersey.

Happy to chew crow, and props to AC.

Yeah watching the game on Sunday ticket all they did was praise the DBs in the game and they talked about colvin a ton. Especially cause he was takling people short of the first and played well in coverage. Hw got as much praise as ramsey and bouye sunday

Colvin turned in his best performance yet vs the squealers. Was great to see.

It was great to see that in Pittsburgh. Having a great game in a tough place to play makes it even better.

He's really solid when he gets to stay near the line of scrimmage. He abused Martavis on those shallow crossers. He's also good in run support and he used to be a very good blitzer hopefully they start to sprinkle that in again. I do think he can still get exposed when he is forced to cover receivers downfield.

Aaron Colvin was an excellent blitzer. He led the NFL in sacks by a CB.

I really like Colvin's blitz ability. Though it should be noted, we only had to blitz once against the Steelers to do what we did.
