(Man the auto correct is crazy on here)
Thats why I said we may not make the playoffs but we will be in the place off race in Dec., I said 8-8 or more, my point is we are not a bad 3-5 win team we will win a lot of games
I never said anything about Superbowl and stuff like that, those teams finished 9-7 and 8-8
I know this team is legit too, but how legit is the question.. A hell of a lot more legit than anything we've seen in the Grus Badley era.. Dats fo dam shure..
I still see 7-9 as our best case with this offense but thats still good next year we go after a free agent qb and make the playoffs
7-9 is actually fine by me, close enough to .500 and shows that we are finally above being a doormat
I took a few minutes and looked at some numbers on this Defense, as we stand right now.
Through 10 quarters of play (texans, ravens and 1st half of titans game) this Defense has allowed a total of...
20 Points
285 Rushing yards
238 Passing yards
Has 13 Sacks
Forced 8 Turnovers (4 INT, 4 FF)
The 2nd half of the titans game this Defense allowed (mainly due to our Offense shooting themselves in the foot over and over with penalties)...
31 Points
118 Rushing yards
135 Passing yards
0 Sacks
0 Turnovers
Overall this Defense is currently ranked through 3 games..
4th in Points allowed at 17
3rd in Total yards allowed at 259.7
1st in Passing yards allowed at 124.3
28th in Rushing yards allowed at 135.3
1st in Sacks
Tied 3rd in INTs
Tied 2nd in Forced Fumbles
Despite the 2nd half blunder against the titans, this Defense has been lights out so far.
Our next 4 games are @Jets, @Steelers, Home against the Rams and @Colts. We then have the bye at week 8.
Well, to be fair when you faced the Texans they were playing T. Savage who was absolutely horrid. So bad in fact, that he lost his job 1/2 a game into the season. Then played against a rookie playing his 1st game coming off the bench ... not exactly "elite" level offense.
I don't know why you just discount specific quarters in the TN game ... last I checked football is a 4q game. And that's how the Titans team is built. They will keep it close and wear you down in the 1st half, then exploit a tired D in the second half. Worked like a charm vs Jax and Sea.
Ravens aren't a good football team. 2-0 doenst mean much when it's against 2 terrible teams. Joe Flacco looked as bad as any QB I've seen that game. And it wasn't the jags D, he was just off. Missed wide open guys, and generally looked like how Bortles generally looks ... plus you have to factor in the London affect. Those guys don't have the exp of playing overseas and we all know FB players are creatures of habit. Throwing them off schedule could be why Joe Flaccid looked so bad.
Maybe if you beat a half decent team, with a good QB in the US, then I'll start to take notice.
Don't be surprised when you drop the next 3 games though (I'll be rooting for you against the Colts)

Why are you here?
After skipping several of the replies in the thread for good reason, it really comes down to this:
If we would have only dominated Houston then after the Tennessee game come out mild against Baltimore, I'd be going back to the old grab your pitchforks and torches comments from previous years.
But we dominated all parts of the game against both Houston and Baltimore which are 1 1/2 possibly 2 playoff teams. That's not something to laugh off. We have a top 5 defense and top 11 offense. This season is not looking all that bad whatsoever no matter who we have looming on the schedule. We've already completed 1/5 and look good enough to warrant further looks.

It'll be nothing short of amazing when we destroy you in week 17.
