Branden Albert was repeatedly beaten by Fowler in mini camp practices. Albert's apparent decline, as highlighted by Fowler, was the explanation for the retirement by the fans on this board at the time. Albert never gave a reason for retiring, so it's as good as any explanation.
In other words, people who don't know why Branden Albert retired made stuff up about the story. That is what a lot of people do here.
