With the Jags literally looking like a team that is a halfway decent QB away from running straight to the SB, don't you think this team finally looks good enough to attract quite literally any superstar or possible superstar to want to come here, QB or not?
A lot of guys want that big market exposure/life so they wouldn't want to sign here. If their focus is JUST football then maybe.

I know the big market thing has always been a huge buy for FA's but I think this team is finally in a position where people will think about coming here regardless of whether they're getting top notch money or not.
If we had Kirk Cousins or Alex Smith - we'd be the #1 team to look at for SB chances easily barring injuries.

Blake is a QB now so get over it and let's make the playoffs first before we play Let's Get quarterback blank. Y'all act like we under .500 or something which is not the case so let the situation with Blake play out before we trying to replace him.
No state tax. A weak and winnable division. A team that now looks like it has a good mix of youth and veteran leadership on defense. This is definitely becoming an attractable football team for free agents. My hope is that Washington, New York, L.A or NOLA part ways with their Quarterbacks after this year is over.
This would give us a chance to bring in Cousins who would be the long term fixture at QB. Or, we'll land a solid veteran looking to rebound or make a last ditch effort to make a good team look great before riding off into the sunset. Either route we end up taking. I don't see us passing up on a QB in the 1ST or 2ND round next year. Too much talent at the position. Even if we play good enough to get inside the teens - low twenties in the draft we could still be looking at a good prospect.

We are not literally a halfway decent QB away from being Super Bowl contenders. To even be considered elite, we need to win the rest of our games, which is not going to happen. I expect to make a serious playoff run
without a decent QB though. To answer your question, Calais Campbell chose Jacksonville over his hometown Broncos because he wants to be a part of the promising future as we start to become playoff contenders. There will certainly be more to come regardless of who our QB is next season.

We have a ways to go before that is the case but there are a lot of pieces that go into the puzzle that is a high end FA. Money is the predominant factor for the majority but I venture there are more players than people realize that want to play winning football. They aren't going to take a massive cut in pay to play for a winner but if the money is close I think a winning culture could potentially sway someone.

This is a valid argument too.

It isn't about that. It's about that we can and will do better. I thank Bortles for his efforts here and he was dealt a bad hand more often than not. The Bortles experiment is coming to a close in Jacksonville whether you like it or not. The team has literally built itself around the defense and run game to help compensate.

Maybe not literally, no, but we are a decent QB away from winning this division easily.
The Jags are winning despite Blake Bortles. A guy who leads the league in multiple categories for being horrendous since entering the league. We are literally the Seahawks that year with Matt Flynn before Russel Wilson.
We are a long, long ways from a super bowl.
1. Decent QBs rarely win super bowls. Based on history, one needs a pro bowl caliber QB to win one. The Dilfer ravens and Manning led broncos are the exceptions, not the rule. We aren't going to find that guy in free agency. We'll have to get lucky in the draft. The problem lies in that we won't be in position to draft one in the 2018 draft.
2. We have the worst run defense in the NFL (5.38 per attempt). That needs to be fixed.
3. Personally, I don't like any of our receivers or tight ends. We need a huge upgrade in that area. Hopefully Dede will be good. I'm not an A-rod guy. I think he's solid, not elite. I'd like us to get that elite guy.
4. We'll start losing some games because our defense won't keep this up. They're on a history level pace when it comes to forcing turnovers.
Matt Flynn never played for the Seahawks he got beat out by Wilson his first year.

Maybe not literally, no, but we are a decent QB away from winning this division easily.
I would not say easily until we are unquestionably the best team in the AFCS, but the road would have far fewer red lights if we had a better QB.

With a better QB we are unquestionably the most talented team in the division. More time is needed to know for sure but it looks like we arguably have the best coaching in the division too.

"Better QB " is not saying much and that guy could be a development project.

You're the one that said better. I used your terminology.
With an average NFL QB this team wins this division this year no questions asked. We have a chance at doing it despite Bortles shortfalls.

Unfortunately we don't have a better QB this year. That is just the reality. Next year, very possible, and someone's avatar will change if it happens.

Bahahaha
Please tell me you guys mean A-Rob and not A-Rod.
Man I see the hesitation in some people, and I understand why... not wanting to overhype the team. That's ok, I'll do it for you, this team is quite easily a Super Bowl team with a good QB at the helm. Doesn't take a genius to figure that out, we have something special and once in a lifetime going on.
Here's to the next step.. American Pie style.
Yeah could you imagine if our offense could march up the field and score td's consistently with this defense. We could challenge any team.

I can imagine run-only drives from the 10 yard line.
