We are talking about two very similar players. One is already on the team, knows the offense, has rapport with the players. The other guy, we would need to give up draft picks for, and he's an outsider in terms of player relationship and the playbook. The Eli trade makes no sense.

Yup. They're too close in talent to make sense. Now if Eli was clearly and substantially better, that's one thing. But these two are almost the same player, separated by 11 years.
