I was looking at tickets on StubHub and a pair of tickets that I was looking at says that you are sent a prepaid gift card via UPS and then you scan the gift card at the gate. Does this work? Has anyone done this before? Is this actually legit? Can you scan a gift card at the gate and get your tickets? I have never heard of this before so I was unsure if I am just behind on ticket technology or this is just a scam on StubHub.
Never heard of this. I've scanned a printed ticket before though.
Sounds like a scam

Seems weird. Is this something official for StubHub? They are usually pretty good, but that doesn't make sense.

Paper tickets, digital tickets (that are assigned to your TicketMaster account) or the fancy color tickets that are given to season ticket members are the only tickets I am aware of.

The ticket people don't have anything but barcode scanners, so somehow it would have to be a barcode (not a swipe-style card).

StubHub should have support that you can ask...

There is a thing on StubHub's help page about receiving a gift card with tickets on it so it seems like they have done this before. It says that the gift card is your ticket and present it at the event for access. It just seems really weird. I have never heard of anything like this before. I have had luck with StubHub in the past but this seems weird and it seems like a scam but I could be wrong.
Looks like it is a way some brokers use to transfer paperless tickets (the broker purchases the ticket with the card and then sends the card to the buyer to use to get in with "credit card entry"). I dunno though, I don't think I'd be confident enough to purchase tickets that way. But I wouldn't generally buy tickets through a broker anyway.

It sounds legit.
