Quote:No we are not. Just the players who need to play are not playing well.
That means we are a bad football team. Players not performing to the best of their abilities. 2nd in the league in penalties. Undisciplined players. Finding ways to lose. One issue is fixed and another takes its place. These are all signs of a bad football team. We are 2-6 for a reason and it's not because we are secretly good.

Quote:Our defense is better then it has been in years.

That isn't saying much, it is still bad.
Quote:Chiefs were 1-14 on 3rd down. Jags rushed for over 200..... and they lost.

That's insane!
Not really when you look at the turnover margin.
These fans kill me on this positive wave in the midst of absolutely being one of the worst teams in the league. Seems like all that positivity does jack with this team.

The only games we should have back were GB and BAL...every other game we got hosed.
First off the field... "the result was a third consecutive week without a victory."

So Johnny O can't use the term loss?  This team isn't having any fun. There is no joy and they make everything look impossible. It is mind blowing bad.

Quote:Yet another game that we should have won.... Did the refs help out like always, sure. But we are still showing the lack of consistency and standard football mechanics. We are showing an upward arrow on offense with the firing of Olson; but there were still play calls that made me wonder. If our leadership knew what they were doing, Olson would have been gone after the Baltimore loss; definitely after the Oakland loss. Gus is definitely gone by end of season; as there is no one to replace him now. I just don't know who we bring in to correct this.

Also, I think a lot of us are going to look at this game in the positive. But we have to remember that most of KC's offense was injured and Kelce was thrown out. So, even with a win, it wouldn't be a truly comparative one. I'm just so tired of losing and looking like poo.

Does anyone else get kicked to the curb this week?

I'm all for Bradley being canned.
Quote:So when ya top 2 receivers are not playing well.  Can't blame everything on the qb.

That's kind of a revolving question, I think based on the general review of Bortles play this year, the top 2 receivers couldn't play well this year.
We're playing the shoulda woulda coulda game?

Allllright.

GB we actually couldashoulda won because we couldn't get a single call to go our way. AROB was molested.

I'm not sure what to say about San Diego..... if only they had some key injuries we might have........

Baltimore - this was the game where we saw the real problem with the offense. Poor usage of the players we have. O couldn't get enough done when the D was having a strong showing.

shouldacouldawon

we actually won the next two games....

indy shoulda drafted some defensive players...

the Bears woulda beat us if they had Cutler

Oakland game brings us back to the Baltimore situation.... what are you doing running the ball like 8 times.... give me a break. We coulda won this one, but da raidas are legit, so too bad so sad.

Tennessee was much like San Diego. We shoulda showed up, we coulda wrapped up, woulda won if our D didn't give up on our inept offense.

But we didn't... so yeah...

KC we should have won. Shoulda woulda coulda won. Like... our D was pretty good (they should have been, with KC being down so many offensive starters) we ran the ball well... But Bortles and his awful INTs rear their ugly head along with stupid fumbles (and one non fumble that shoulda been a TD and coulda been a W for us)

I'm seeing a real possibility that these awful 2-6 Jags could realistically have been 5-3.

This is a best case scenario looking back with 20/20 hindsight vision.

Things preventing a 2-6 team from ACTUALLY being that 5-3 team?

QB play (fixable, maybe)

HC (replaceable surely)

OC (replaced, Hackett already showed signs of improved play call)

refs (Gotta be better so they don't matter)

in that order, imo.

The Jags coulda won 5

The Jags probably SHOULDA won at LEAST 1 more than they have.

The Jags woulda, if they weren't the Jags.

I could make a better argument for a higher possibility of 0-8 right now than I could make for 6-2. lol.

I respect fans of their favorite team trying to stay positive and look at the glass half full.   I certainly have done this countless times.

Yet,  regarding the Jaguars game vs.  the Raiders,   that's really going all out in looking for a different outcome.   The Raiders made some excellent plays in that game and their overall 7-2 record in a very strong division is reflective of a good football team.

Stop it.

A few less turnovers - a few less "freebie" TDs on blown coverages  - and half as many dropped passes...

...and this team is 4/4.  Maybe 5/3.

Of course the shoulda/coulda/woulda game is an exercise in futility and this team continues to run out there and shoot itself in the foot week after week, so.... they don't deserve anything other than maybe 3/5 right now.  (Ivory goal-line fumble should've been overturned IMO)

The deserve to be 2-6. They don't deserve to be 3-5.

Lucky to beat the Colts and Bears really.

If we were lucky, other teams got lucky with us, too right?

That game was a classic we beat ourselves, they didnt do anything on offense we spotted all their points
Jags should have won vs. Ravens but should have lost vs. Bears rest stays as is, hence 2-6 is about right
We should be 8-0 and I'm pretty sure we would be if those other damn teams didn't beat us. Those teams can suck it.

Quote:Can't quote you Hendershot from this comp (for whatever reason....), but I'd say our schedule should have looked like this:

Green Bay - win (poor play calling lost us this game)

San Diego - loss (not even going to try here)

Baltimore - win (another example of poor play calling that cost us the game)

Indy - win

Chicago - win

Oakland - win (I think if Olson was gone, this game would have turned out much different)

Tennessee - loss (Possibly could be like the Oakland game, but it was bad; so not going there)

KC - win (turnovers, turnovers, turnovers.....)

We should definitely have a better record that what we do. But we kept this inept coaching staff a year too long and it's taking it's toll. #here's2nextYear

I was thinking about this and Cleveland should be 10-0. they just needed to outscore their opponents each week. If they can fix that, look out!
I'm gonna argue we should be 1-7.
