The military was so important when the players were showing disrespect to the flag, but not as important when the President of the country insults a family of a soldier.

I don't care if he misspoke, the family took what he said out of context, he said what he said. It's not hard to believe he said it because he says stupid things on a daily basis now. You all continue to give him a pass and he will continue to do the idiotic things he's doing day after day.

What did he say? What should he have said? The issue is that I and many others are sick of politicizing every little thing Trump says, looks at, thinks about, etc. The hypocrisy that floats to the top each time CNN sounds the rallying cry for the sheep seems to get overlooked by the merry band of leftists. False equivalency runs rampant just to spread the hate. I personally don’t care what was said as it was private and none of my or anyone else’s business. But it becomes news because President Trump is ***** deep into the liberal psyche! Too many underestimated the fact the POTUS was not going to play politics as they had been know.

Can’t imagine what could get accomplished without all the pushback for nothing more than bucking the man! I think some of ya’ll got too used to the sweet talking Obama government reach arounds to even understand what was going on the last 8 years.
This just in: Trump takes a dump, says it doesn't stink.

To the presses!

What Trump allegedly said here is not the same.

So one could be upset with one and not the other.

I don't get mad when people are accused of something to which there is no proof. And even still I tend to not care what people say when I deem it unintelligent.
Now... if someone comes knocking on my door, or shoving their face into my living room thru a TV, with some nonsensical political statement I didn't ask for... I might get a lil upset.

One is an invasion of my personal space with political "protests". (btw shouldn't they protest by, idk... refusing to play football until change is enacted? Maybe march in the streets together to bring about change... all these "look at me" protests do is create anarchy and destroy Sunday football)
The other is stupid talk in a political environment that is nothing but slander back and forth. Brought about by a bunch of politicians (Trump included) from both sides of the aisle that spend all day and night saying and doing things to further divide America.

Can't wait for the next POTUS to take office so it can be more of the same... It ain't gettin no better folks.

This is exactly the same.  Don't talk about Patriotism when it fits your argument about players taking a knee, and then when the president says something absolutely disgusting to a soldier that passed aways family say it was taken out of context or that this is all about politics.  If it was someone in your family you wouldn't see it that way.  People are absolute hypocrites when it comes to politics and each side wants to act like they are better than the other.

Did u see Kelly's presser?
Oh, for a President only half this eloquent.

Dear Madam,

I have been shown in the files of the War Department a statement of the Adjutant General of Massachusetts that you are the mother of five sons who have died gloriously on the field of battle.

I feel how weak and fruitless must be any word of mine which should attempt to beguile you from the grief of a loss so overwhelming. But I cannot refrain from tendering to you the consolation that may be found in the thanks of the Republic they died to save.

I pray that our Heavenly Father may assuage the anguish of your bereavement, and leave you only the cherished memory of the loved and lost, and the solemn pride that must be yours to have laid so costly a sacrifice upon the altar of Freedom.

Yours, very sincerely and respectfully,
A. Lincoln.

This was an Army Sgt. from Miami with a population just over 2.5 million. The Congresswoman was there for other reasons. Not her place to interject regardless of who the POTUS is, especially not hearing the entirety of the conversation. What words of condolences are appropriate? Any besides the ones from POTUS’s mouth right? The timing and nature of this situation reeks!

You seem to forget, not surprisingly, that Donald brought this whole issue up - when he was feeling sorry for himself for having to do his duty, and when he was slandering Obama and Bush. Donald always has to make it about Donald. And if a dead serviceman and his widow get caught in the crossfire then so be it. As long as they are talking about Donald and not healthcare or a few other things.

I doubt Donald was insensitive on purpose. He's just not an empathetic guy (except when it's about him). I imagine he was trying to console the widow by saying something about how the mission was dangerous, he knew what he was getting into, but he faced the danger. Or some such. He's just not very articulate when he goes off script or teleprompter. He probably tried to wing it and it come out as being clumsy.

The point is - Donald has another mess of his own making. And of the saddest issue imaginable.

Do you forget how Obama spoke negatively about Trump to the media and late-night television? Trump is a hothead and quick to react, but let's not pretend like he's the only President to behave like this.

So, now it's Trump's behavior that put the widow in the crossfire? C'mon... Surely it isn't the untrustworthy congresswoman and the media that wants to blow everything out of proportion.

You have no idea what was said, and the only thing that we know is that Congresswoman Wilson can't keep her story straight.

But don't let the inconsistencies stop you from jumping to conclusions.

Just sayin'.
Read the whole context.
the Wording could’ve been better. But trump is right. But let’s face it, if you enroll into the military, you should know, as well as your family, that there is a chance you sacrifice your life for the country. To think otherwise, I’d say you’re a call old duty or battlefield veteran and Microsoft and PlayStation thanks you for all the money you gave them. Today’s ‘kids’ needs to realize that enrolling into the military isn’t like video games. When you die, you don’t respawn and go back at it. If you decide to enroll, congrats and my hats off to you. Just do it for the right reasons.

The "kids" you refer to that are actually in the military know the risk.  It's the rest of the population that don't understand the sacrifice they are willing to make.
Just remember who put the whole issue of presidents calling surviving family members of fallen heroes into the national discourse, all due to an effort to deflect. His minions gobble it like fish food on the surface of aquarium water.

Quite possibly the dumbest statement ever.  Anyone that joins the military is taking a massive risk, they know it, and the public knows it....but for a president to call with a condolence phone call and remind the family of that is just insensitive at the time.

Again, it's the typical people here defending him no matter what.  It's just funny.

People are mad that everything about Trump is being politicized?  Well then tell the idiot to stay off Twitter, do his job quietly, stop saying stupid things and maybe the media wont have as much to talk about.  He brings all of this onto himself.  To act like all of this is on the media is absolutely ridiculous.  While the media likes to make a story out of everything, Trump loves being the center of attention.
Wow, Abraham Lincoln had the audacity to claim that she should be proud her son died? I think it’s so insensitive. It’s crazy. Why do you need to say that? You don’t say that to someone who lost family, the father, the breadwinner. You can say, ‘I’m so sorry for your loss. He’s a hero.’

No, he probably said it.   I just think either he bungled what he was trying to say, or they just took it the wrong way, and here's a democratic congressperson wanting to make hay out of it.

Correction, this IS the dumbest thing written on here so far! Trump should remain silent so the media can't bash him as easily? What? Is it too much to ignore? I'm sure the media loves it because it keeps them employed, even if they all have taken to replicating TMZ. For you and the other sheep, it is ridiculous to think you can continue to bury your heads and pretend the media is just some puzzle piece in your social justice reform, not the perpetrator. #Resist, #StayWoke What's sad is this just emboldens the hypocritical left to be even more idiotic in their attempts at the national spotlight and not for anything good. Aren't there anymore plays in the left's playbook that actually strengthens America and moves us forward or is it always going to be "look at me" or "I know you are but what am I?" You'd think the election would have been a good indicator that those plays are well, played out.
