I have been saying to move him to LG for years now. He is a natural LG. He doesn't have the raw power to be a mauling RG.
At guard it is easier to shine than at center. Centers usually help on double teams and on quick plays often barely touch a defender before the play has been executed. Linder at center takes our best lineman away for too many plays. Its easier to reach the adequate threshold as a center than as a guard and harder to be a game changer.
I'm good with moving him to OG, something I think a lot of us tossed around as an idea when L.Bo was still rostered.
If Shatley can get er done at C, why not take Linder and move him to G (and then the contract wouldn't seem so high for the position for those fans that like to complain about silly stuff)
Which I hope is soon. Would you put him at Guard with Shatley playing well. I think it would only strengthen our Oline. I feel like Shatley is held his own against Donald in the Rams game and played well yesterday.

Shatley couldn't handle Aaron Donald at all. That was a mismatch.

This.
While Shatley has played admirably, he's no Linder and Aaron Donald proved that.
Aaron Donald is arguably the best inside defensive player in the league. He beats everyone.

Lol exactly. Every center struggles with Donald.
"Yea our SF sucks. He couldn't even guard Lebron James"

Yeah I'd say he did fairly well considering it was Aaron Donald.
He handled whoever the clots have playing inside DL.
If we're trying to actually field the best OL combo, if Shatley provides little drop off at C, it only would make sense to put Linder in Cann's spot, imo.
We haven’t missed a beat with Shatley?
They gave up 5 sacks vs the Rams.

It wasn’t just Donald.
No. We had to spend the money. Linder is our center. He makes all the adjustment calls for the line.
If Shatley can play center, then move him to guard.
What you guys are missing is our oline is just fine. I've been saying this. They entire unit as a group are playing so much better.

All I was responding to was him saying Shatley held his own against Aaron Donald. He did not hold his own against Aaron Donald.
