Modern progressivism is an ideology that, I believe, is underpinned with several basic Fallacies. The first of which is mathematical. Somehow, modern progressives have convinced a large section of the country that you can prop up or stimulate the private sector economy by taking money out of the same private economy. It doesn't make any sense. If you walk over to a pool with a bucket and take 5 gallons from one end and walk accross to dump it in the other end of the pool, you haven't really added anything. In fact, it's more likely that you are going to spill some on the ground during the transfer (waste fraud and abuse).
