Fewer linebackers on the field makes each linebacker more important and some defensive coordinators have moved to a hybrid so not all schemes are strictly 4-3 or 3-4. How much a LB gets paid should be based solely on his performance, not the defensive scheme.

I didn't say they don't get paid. I said they don't get paid like a 3-4 pass rushing OLB such as Von Miller. Telvin's performance, however good, is not going to get paid like that.

The highest paid 43 OLB is Jamie Collins who makes $12.5 mil per year. Compared to the 34 OLB where you'd have to go to the 7th highest guy to be at that much. Tagging Telvin would pay him like $15 mil, making him the highest paid 43 OLB in the league. He's not getting tagged.

You were right on the money, Telvin just got extened for 50mil over 4 years, right at 12.5 mil.

No he wasn't. Telvin was extended for $44 million, which is $11 million annually.
I think Robinson's absence this year speaks volumes as to why he's even more valuable to this team. Regardless of who we have at QB next year. Robinson will be in that equation. Lee and Hurns just can't seem to be the No. 1 guy on the outside consistently enough. Hopefully Westbrook adds some space to the rest of the receiving core.

Hurns was never supposed to be the #1 guy. It is like in Green Bay two years ago, where Randall Cobb had to move outside and backups rotated in the slot.

Is this NFL at Large?  No.   No one cares about Greenbay in a Robinson thread.
