Jack is average. And our 2nd best pass rusher plus this "average" LB is worth a former mid round pick who has <100 snaps and the Pats were willing to give up with Brady on the edge of retirement.

I didn't realize he was a FA next year. That makes the deal all that much worse of an idea.

In theory, though not likely, he could play this season for the 9ers and resign with the Pats in the offseason...
I think they have a plan to get him a long term deal done before season's end though.

Yeah, I'm not seeing it either. Not saying he's the best LB in the league, but he's definitely not just average.
