Houston Texans owner Bob McNair apologized Friday for a remark he made last week at the Fall League Meeting regarding players not standing during the national anthem before games.
This sounds like he did not lose anybody.

While that was a pretty stupid remark, I do think that it was taken out of context.  He was using a figure of speech (not the best choice).

I'll be glad when this whole protesting thing is finally over.  I'm tired of politics and pc invading the NFL.

Me too. I know a guy who said he started watching high school football instead of the NFL because of the anthem protests and complained ESPN is distracting fans from football now by talking about politics.

I can see why the players got mad, when he referred to prison. It kind of made the players look like a bunch of thugs that belong behind bars. When you look at it as a whole though, McNair is old and he just misquoted an old figure of speech. I think if he would've actually gotten the adage right and said "asylum" instead of "prison", this entire thing wouldn't be such a big deal. It's amazing how one little word, can set off such rage. It's almost like people are looking for a reason to get upset.
