I've got to admit this pregame ritual is so bad it may have circled back around to be good. Just Hilarious.

So far - it kind of rings like a false accusation to me - but who knows?

No police report filed but the last part of Winston's apology leads me to believe something happened. Perhaps a friend of Winstons

it doesn't ring like a false accusation to me.  She was very specific in exactly what happened and this all came out long before these other things have happened recently.

Jameis Winston seems to have an issue controlling himself and does stupid things routinely.  Glad he's not the Jags problem.
She wasn't sure it was Winston, but it was someone who he got an Uber for. So at the very least he knows who it was. Not a good look either way.

It happened two years ago, Uber has it documented, and they banned Winston from using the service.

Whether it was Winston or not, after already going through very serious rape allegations previously, its a very very bad look whether you were the one who did it or it was one of your buddies. He didn't stop it and whoever did it faced no consequences. The longer we allow our friends and peers to commit sexually abusive behavior, the longer people will continue to commit sexually abusive behavior.

It sounds to me like this is part of the whole "#metoo" thing that is spreading lately.  I also suspect that this particular Uber driver is just looking for a payday.

How is it a "me too" thing if it happened two years ago, she reported it when it happened, and like I said, it's been documented.

You think the girl saw into the future and was like "hey just in case sexually abusive men finally start getting consequences, I'm gonna fabricate this story about sexual assault so I can join in too and get a payday!"

Again, this is why women don't come forward, this is why they live with fear and guilt, as soon as they come out and give their side of things, people immediately assume they're lying, they're looking for a payday. Jameis Winston is probably the one telling the truth because he's famous, throws touchdowns, and has money. The same jameis that stole crab legs from Publix, has been accused of rape in one of the absolute worst investigations I've ever seen, etc...

Maybe, just maybe, the woman is telling the truth and the sexual predators in power should be the ones looked at in a microscope, not the victims.

I know there are people out there looking for paydays. There are always people with no shame that are going to look for the easy way out, but that's the minority.
This woman couldn't have possibly known two years ago that all this would be going on right now, just the fact that more people are finally realizing that there are a ton of sexual predators out there, and actually holding them responsible might have given her the courage to come forward and the hope that something will be done.

Let's get back to the topic of this thread.  It's about Jameis Winston's bizarre pre-game speech.  Full disclosure here.  Moderators including myself were a part of  taking this thread off topic.  We all are fans first and mods/admins second and we are only human.

If we want to discuss the recent allegations, we have a sub-forum for it.  This discussion is turning into a political discussion.  By the way Achillies, this is not directed at you, it's directed at all of us myself included.

I don't want to turn this into a political thread and don't want to move it.  Let's get it back on topic.

My bad, was just trying to consolidate the odd behavior instead of starting a new thread but I definitely see how this could spiral into something outside of that.

On topic, I was wondering what feeling would be more embarrassing, if you were the guy that made the "jaguaring" video or if you were jameis Winston after watching a video of yourself giving that speech.
That is definitely one of the strangest pre-game speeches I've ever heard. I wonder if the video of it will become a long term comedy fixture kind of like Jim Mora's "Playoffs? Playoffs?" or Alan Iverson, "Practice. We talkin about practice."
