Just wondering if you wicked smart computer folks may be able to add a "custom date range" feature to the "advanced search" window on our humble board?  

I found it very helpful on the previous board for finding old threads that were being referenced months or years later.

Though it's not really a "custom date range", you can specify a time range for a search (ie, 6 months ago and newer, 1 year ago and older, etc.).  I'll look into a more customized option.
