Quote:The team needs his swagger and confidence for sure.  Bradley won't ruin him.  That would require some level of coaching and discipline.

hope you are right, he has done nothing but make players worse over time as he coaches them... I hope 1 season isn't enough for Jalen to be ruined by him as well

I look at all these studs we signed in free agency in Jackson, Amukamara, House, our FS who for some reason his name is escaping me right now.. but all of these guys are underperforming from year's prior..

that is not because they are suddenly bad players, or suddenly not trying... it is because of our coach... same with allen robinson, bortles, etc
Michael Jordan his whole career won the battle partially due to ball skills.  But mainly due to psyching out opposition.

The free safety's name is Tashaun Gipson.

If Jalen Ramsey was being ruined, he would not be on Ike Taylor's radar.

One season can't ruin a player. That idea is ridiculous.
Gipson has made some great plays.

I am happy we have him.

Like what?

I can only remember him having 1 big play.

Some posters explained in another thread he seems to be invisible because QBs don't throw his way.

Mainly due to psyching out opposition? Good grief.
lol...RABBLE RABBLE RABBLE

Quote:Some of the best to ever play that position have been the biggest trash talkers.  If you can back it up, keep talking.

In his prime, Deon Sanders immediately comes to mind.
Quote:That play was an example of stats being misleading. So what if that pass was not intercepted? It was fourth down. Other posters complained because they like to see "splashy" plays, but he did his job.

Ike Taylor's comment about Jalen Ramsey's performance against Amari Cooper makes me wonder if Derek Carr was throwing away from him when he picked on Prince Amukamara all day.

Jalen Ramsey certainly did his job on the game securing play in the Bears game.   It's an excellent building block in the process of eventually creating takeaways,  yet understandably he's still in the early growing stages of his NFL career.   Most players his age are still in college.    All things considered,  Ramsey seem to have lived up to his draft building through this point in time.   If he can stay composed on the field and remain relatively healthy,   all of the tools are there for him to be amongst the best at his position for a long time.

From an opposition standpoint,   not challenging Jalen Ramsey regularly seems to be the best way to proceed much more often than not.

A disciplinary coaching staff will make Ramsey grow up. He definitely has to potential to play on a Richard Sherman level and the Raiders knew it.

If the Jaguars can find a solution that would lead Jalen Ramsey to avoid getting penalized unnecessarily and even worse for the team ejected again from a game,   he would be that much further on a path to being the complete player and complete winning solution that he's capable of becoming.  Surrounding Ramsey with the best possible coaches and a highly respected veteran leader in the Secondary would certainly be one of the primary goals the Jaguars should try to seek for 2017 and beyond.

That stupid foul was one of the most obvious signs this team is out of control with the current coaches. The whole defense is doing it, especially Dante Fowler, but I did not realize before this season how much that falls on the coaches.

As the #1 defensive back in his first NFL season, Jalen Ramsey is bound to be a leader when he stops letting yellow flags fly.

Yeah, Ramsey should imitate a meek, quiet and introverted guy like Sherman if he wants to be really great.
Did this man even give up a catch today ???

There was one end zone play where I saw him covering someone, but most of the time Nick Foles avoided #20.

The play where he prevented the interception from prince.

I would like to know what Gipson was thinking. It was a guaranteed interception if he stayed away from his teammate trying to catch it. Without question that was the biggest mistake by our defense.

That play earned itself a brand new, BritJag created coinage, TisJags
