I made a comment during preseason about Calais getting double teamed would improve Fowlers and yannicks #s(On reddit though). got tickets for the colts matchup! First jag game in around 10 years. Hoping the D puts on a great game.
Teams are going to pay attention now to who Caldwell brings in for visits before the draft.
He’s a Terp.

I know he’s got a long way to go but the guy is like Robert Mathis. Love him.

Fowler too. Always around the ball.
Yannick is so much like Mathis.
We have a defensive line that will only get better over the next 3 years. Even if Campbell slows down and/or Malik is cut, Ngakoue and Fowler Jr. are emerging. I think we will be keeping Dareus around too, who is only 27. This defensive line looks like it is set for the next 5-10 years, even if we lose one of our 90$ million D Linemen.
Heck of a feather in Caldwell's cap this guy.

Jaguars LB Myles Jack on DE Yannick Ngakoue, who had 2.5 sacks and 2 FF: "He's a bully." And: "If Yan is fighting a grizzly bear, help the grizzly bear."
Yannick and Telvin are "hands down" the best value draft picks in team history. Not sure if I want to give Caldwell too much credit for Telvin since he was lucky to get such a great player in the 5th round. It's like calling the Patriots "brilliant" for taking Brady despite the fact they passed on him 5 times. Yannick, on the other hand, was someone I know they loved from the Senior Bowl and had him targeted before the draft. He seems like the type of guy that will keep improving due to his non-stop motor and work effort.
Yannick is a pleasure to watch.....and invariably is one of the "nightmares" the Jags opponents have to worry about.
If Yannick don't getcha....Calais will...and if he don't getcha...Malik will.....and if he don't getcha...and so on and on...
These guys are relentless.

LOL

Yeah, the various ways many are attempting to rationalize their disdain for Caldwell are becoming pretty comical.

This one is gold. He just got lucky to take a chance on an undersized player in the 5th that turned out to be the best 4/3 WLB in the league. We should clearly not give Caldwell any credit for that move.

And Caldwell definitely didn't just "pass on him 5 times."  He selected Bortles, Lee, A-Rob, Linder and Colvin prior to Smith.  That's not passing on Smith. That's hitting on several good players and scoring an amazing LB late.

Playing at an All Pro level as of late.  9 sacks on the year and 5 FF on the season.  Relentless to the QB.

Every time that I think about how bad it was that Caldwell selected Dawuane Smoot (LB) over Dan Feeney (OG) in round 3 in the 2017 draft, I need to remind myself that Yannick was a great find in Round 3 back in the 2016 draft.
