Still a good QB that I would take over Bortles. Even Eli Manning losing OBJ is still putting up better numbers on a bad Giants team. Quick, name me one WR who plays for the Eagles without Google. Yet Carson Wentz is somehow leading the Eagles to the best record in the NFL. And wasn’t Bortles drafted 3rd overall? He’s in his 4th season and still can’t make a back shoulder throw on a consistent basis. HE’S A BUST!

You just listed arguably the greatest QB of all time, one of the best QBs to ever play the game and another HoF QB.... Of course those guys can up the level of other players, problem is they're very few and far between.

Stafford is a good QB and he still has some good WRs on that team.. Tate and Jones are better than the guys we currently have (not counting Robinson).

Alshon Jeffery, Nelson Agolor(spelling, I'd have to look it up for the correct spelling) and TE Ertz... Ertz is good, Jeffery is a really good WR and Agolor is starting to come on now in his 3rd season.

Brother, when Coughlin moves on from Bortles and we get a QB who can actually play the position as it should be, I won’t hold all of this Bortles love against you. Not that much anyway. ;-)

Everybody was calling Agolor a bust last year now all the sudden “hes coming on” lol. Get outta here dude. Theres been plenty good QB with mediocre WRs in the league.

LOL strong backpedal bro...

I don't have Bortles love. He isn't any good.

I just actually use my eyes, logic and reason in my opinions.

No backpedal my friend. You conveniently ignore legitimate points that I make, so it’s all good. The point is; Bortles is probably in his last season here regardless of the seasons outcome and next season we’ll have something new to [BLEEP] about. If we wasn’t passionate, we wouldn’t be fans.

What legitimate points were I ignoring? Did you not include 3 HoF caliber QBs in your argument? Of course those guys carry their teams (besides Manning this year) and raise the level of other players. They're HoF caliber for a reason lol.

The fact that he was drafted high and isn’t playing up to the level of a high draft pick. The fact that he can’t throw a receiver open. The fact that other QB’s can lose starters around them and their game don’t drop off to the point where they can’t move the ball at all. You blame the WR’s for drops, but excuse the ugly balls coming at them. The fact is Bortles is holding back not only the offense, but the whole damn team. While our defense gave up some plays yesterday they did put a TD on the board for the 6th time this year. Bortles threw a damn pick in FG range with 3 minutes to go after the defense awarded him the ball. Let’s be real here he sucks in crunch time and if it wasn’t for the defense we’d be picking in the top 10 again.

I don't excuse anything. There's plenty of blame to go around, Bortles included.

The thing is,  most of you just blindly put everything on Bortles and simply ignore everything else besides him.

If it wasn't for Bortles putting the Offense on his back yesterday, this team doesn't score more than 7, maybe 10 points all game long.
Fournette once again contributed to a loss with his poor running. When Bortles has to take over you see what happens. Fournette was not worth the 4th overall pick.
What about the games he's been good and won us games? 181 against pitt where he wore them down and kept big Ben off the field, or the Seattle game, wore them down so that the play action was effective. Idk man, LF7 has helped make our pa effectI've again. Why hackett won't throw out of the obvious run formatons to catch them off guard idk
Fournette is overrated.

He is not bad but we had better choices like Adams, Watson or Hooker.

He ran for the majority of those yards on one play late in a game that was well decided and Pittsburg defense gave up. It was a nice game though. And yes he deserves credit for a few strong runs in the Seattle game.

Aside from that he’s pretty below average. He has no wiggle and is being exposed because he can’t bully weak defenders like in college. He’s not even a one cut runner. If he doesn’t get a wide open lane he’s pretty useless. I do like his ability to catch out the back field but he needs to do more than that.
Do you know how hard it is to perform at a high level for an entire NFL season? Especially when you're the focal point and getting smashed every snap? This post reeks of troll.
I was banging my hands on the table for Watson pre-draft. I think him in the first with Cam in the 2nd and Kamara in the 3rd would have brought this team many trophies. Smoot and Fournette are not going to do anything for this team long term I dont think. Smoot seems like just a guy out there-a decent run stopper-and Fournette's chronic injury issues are probably going to stay with him his whole career.

NEVER draft a RB top 5 in today's NFL. Elliot was the wrong pick, Fournette was the wrong pick.
He hasn't been the same since the L.A Rams game here at home after he tweaked his ankle. Prior to that injury he was coming off of three really good weeks of production in a row. Turned out a great overall game in that OT loss to the Jets. Ran all over the Steelers and then he managed to gouge the Rams prior to that injury late in the 2nd half.

He missed basically four weeks of football after that between the injury, the bye week and the suspension. Struggled against the Chargers. Grinded a solid game out against the Browns. Fell off after that two weeks in a row. Steady game against the Seahawks and then he struggled against the 49ERS. He's been up and down like most rookies. Hopefully they let him rest for the play-offs. I really hope they don't try to force him into getting 1K on the ground.

^ same ol song and dance from the usual suspect:
"It's ALWAYS someone else's fault, Bortles is the bestest!"

One week it's LF to blame.
Another week it's the O-LINE to blame.
Following week, it's the "worst WRs in the NFL" to blame.
After that, it's the coaching to blame.
Then, it's the "Defensive PPG" to blame.

It's NEVER Bortles' fault. He's GREAT! The rest of the team (and the inept Jag fans) are holding him back!

Give it a break man. It's a TEAM sport in the NFL. They're all in it together, and affect outcomes of games. Yes, even BB makes boneheaded mistakes at times too.

LF is a good player.

LF is a good player.

Fournette was a terrible pick due to his chronic ankle problems.

He'll probably never give the team more than a few good games a season until they let him walk in a few years. Considering the team was already loaded with talent it's going to be a long time until we get another top five pick and wasting this last one is going to set the team back compared to what it could have been had it taken someone that won't spend half of every season useless due to injury.

There's a lot of truth and concern in that. It was certainly a concern with him coming out of LSU. But I guess the overall talent was too much to pass up on. Which I agree with. Who else do you take there with the 4th overall pick? I don't consider this a waste. It's too early to say such things. And given that this team has already won four or five games this year WITHOUT him is promising enough for me that they can probably overcome a lot more than we think or realize.

Would you have not taken Fred Taylor in 1998 had you known he was going to miss close to 3 - 4 years worth of football in total due to injuries? I still take him there. The talent and reward is too great to pass up on. All things considered. I still wouldn't mind seeing us take Nick Chubb out of Georgia in a few months to compliment him.

Did Taylor have a history of chronic injuries to his feet and ankles? Big difference between a guy having NFL injury problems and already being medically problematic when they enter the league.

Personally I was an Adams guy, but there were multiple players that could have been taken, better yet the Jaguars could have traded back with the Panthers and done something bold, since the Panthers apparently wanted Fournette so badly.

I don't know much about Taylor's college injury history. But to that point. You never know what's going to happen really. It's all 50/50. They took a chance and swung for the fences and based on at least four to six games this year he's certainly been worth that big swing. Myles Jack playing well as a rookie and now into his 2nd year coming off that really bad knee injury may have given the front office a lot of confidence too in their decision to take him.
