Bills fired their OC,, it seemed to make a difference (so far).

Ravens fired their OC Trestman,, the Ravens still sucked.

We'll see.
Quote:I see it mathematically:

QB coach works with 3 or 4 players. He is only in charge of Blake Bortles, Chad Henne, and Brandon Allen unless we have a QB on our PS.

OC is in charge of at least 22 players.  He writes game plans and is the direct supervisor for all position assistants except Doug Marrone.

Mathematics is an irrelevant measure in this matter. One position can bring the entire unit down.
I approved considering the need to get the run game going.

Logic is irrelevant in that discussion you're having.
Nay

Is the organization still unsure of what they have in Gus?

All the coaches stink, get rid of em all.
Quote:Doesn't the HC create the game plan?

Hold on, are you saying this team actually has a game plan?
NO !

Just an useless move. The head coach is our problem.

Meh. Just meh. Scapegoat. The whole staff will be gone a a couple months though, so that is nice. Our QB has been struggling, and the QB coach gets promoted to OC. This franchise could depress and break the happiest man on earth, if he chose to endure this team. Ineptitude and bad decisions all around.

Well, doesn't really matter since they'll all be gone in a couple months. So its one of the clowns gone.

Reminds me of a joke....."what do you call 1000 lawyers at the bottom of the ocean?.......a good start."  :woot:

(sorry lawyers but it IS funny)

Our last three games are all division.....if the tacks or clots have it wrapped up they'll probably sit their starters so maybe there's a win for us there for the clown show to brag about.

Otherwise, looks like we got another top 5 pick, trade that bad boy and lets get some hungry players instead of these guys that think they got it made before they even play. I think that top round pick status goes to their heads.

I wonder if olson went to gus and said "Fire me, I want out" so he could start looking for another job.

Anyway, he'll get a jumpstart to start looking for something.

This organization is the worst.

Someone needed to be fired. That is for sure. Did they get the truly offending party? I do not believe they did.

Had to start somewhere with someone... this is a start. I don't think this alone will change anything but doing nothing at all would be insanity.

I'm thinking Gus is gone after the Chiefs game..
Quote:While Hackett was the QB coach we watched Bortles regress into a warm steaming pile. Is Hackett competent?
I agree

It all depends on how that game plays out.  If it's another embarrassment, then absolutely.
Something had to be done. So I am fine with this decision. Bradley's not going to fire himself. And Caldwell's too prideful and delusional to admit he hired the wrong man for the job four years ago. If Hackett can't fix this offense and stop Bortles' regression over the next nine weeks of football. Khan will have no other choice but to lay the hammer down on Caldwell and everyone else in the front office and coaching staff.

That's what I'm thinking. Another embarrassment. Hard not to think that way right now.

One position is not the problem. We have problems at all 11 positions on offense.

Dave Caldwell is not refusing to admit he hired the wrong man. He is keeping his mouth shut because only bad things can happen when a GM throws an employee under the bus.

Again to quote Khan, "actions speaks louder than words"  Gus is still employed so yes he is saying that.
