I think the reason Ngakuoue is starting ahead of Fowler is because Ngakuoue is a more straight forward passrusher and takes zero imagination to use which is right up Bradley's alley.

Fowler needs to be moved around more kinda like Watt.
Quote:Jackson and Ramsey has only had one issue so far. Jackson played a "clean" game tonight. Ramsey had one (so that's two for him). Fowler has had at least 1 in just about every single game, from offsides, to jumping over a kick (which could have cost us a game), to unsportsmanlike penalties. They talk about how its easier to reel someone in than to pump someone out? Fowler needs to get reeled in, and reeled in quick.

Seriously, has there been a single game that he hasn't been flagged in?

Yup a new coach would use Fowler to his strengths instead of forcing him to only play the LEO, Fowler at UF stood up as a rushing more then he did with his hands on the ground, but this coaching staff forces players to play their scheme instead of using them to their strengths, see Myles Jack
All I know is the "Fowler has already shown more than Beasley ever has" people sure have gone poof.

Quote:So Fowler can be a bust after 7 games with same [BAD WORD REMOVED] coaching, but Bortles can't be trash after three seasons of poor mechanics? Kid couldn't hit the water if he was throwing it from a pier.

He'did hit the sand before that happens. SHOWED it to us last night.

Is it sad that when I see certain comments that make me want to make milk come out of my nose that I'm wondering where SCJ is to respond to such hilarious reality?
Many of us warned that Fowler was a decent "All Around" player, but a stud pass rusher he was NOT.

The Jags had better options than Fowler available. I was disappointed with the pick, but If you don't look at Fowler as a pure pass rusher then you won't be as upset with him.

The problem is the Jags organization billed him as their next great pass rush threat. Therefore, he is a bust or fail for what they drafted him to be.

Like Alualu, he'll be around for a while, and like Alualu he was over drafted.

Quote:Fowler's a piece of trash. He's too worried about getting absolutely murdered during a play that he has to look tough after the play. Reminds me of his off the field incident.

spacecoastjag would rather hijack a thread to talk about Blake Bortles....He probably really believes Bortles had a good game last night. Dumbest guy on the message board by far. He is the worst quarterback in the league right now, but when teams decide to play soft because the game is over, Blake can pick them apart. So in the first half spacecoastjag can blame it on the receivers, the line, the running game, but in the second its all Blake and those problems go away? You are clueless.

Worst QB in league? He's not even the worst QB in his division. You don't have a clue.

At this point, I just want him lined up as a LB and used on delayed blitzes. Don't care if he's not the next Von Miller, just want to see that guy contribute in a positive way.

Bradley said on a conference call with reporters on Friday that he benched Fowler for the remainder of the first half. That totaled 18 plays.

“After that penalty, he was out for the whole first half,” Bradley said. “We can not and will not tolerate discipline penalties like that. Those things are under their control. It’s selfish. With those acts, there are consequences. … I’m not going to put him in a situation where he’s going to hurt the team.”

Fowler leads the team with eight penalties and has been called for two personal fouls.

I never liked the Fowler pick to begin with. I never saw him as a pass rushing DE. I saw him more as a strong side linebacker and I still think that's what he is. When he was in college, he'd have a huge game or two and get his sacks in bunches. Then he would completely disappear for the next few games. He showed absolutely no consistency as a pass rusher. Tons of athleticism, but he isn't a difference maker. I wanted Leonard Williams.

Mariotta outplayed Bortles last night.
Fowler hasn't played that well this season. He gets blocked rather easily. That's fine, it was definitely the more realistic version of what could of happened, but he's gotta get better. He has been bench for a 3rd round rookie.

The jury is still out, but he has to start making a case for himself.

Is there one post you make without my name in it? Creepy.

Osweiler genius. Playoff QB because he has a real defense and a real running game.
Fowler's a bust. You can either rush the edge or you can't and he can't. You know that in year 1

He has no problem pointing out that Bortles is only 24 ad nauseam too, but Dante being 22 is already a bust huh.

Y'all of course know I'm not defending Fowler either. Fowler franchise pass rusher is a bust exactly as was predicted. Fowler high energy garbage man cleanup dude can be a useful player if he ever gets his head screwed on right.

I wanted amari cooper

think about that, we could have had amari cooper

I don't know if I would call him a bust. I still believe he is playing out of position. If he was moved to strong side linebacker in a standard 4-3 defense, I bet he might end up being a pretty decent player. He's just not a natural pass rusher. He never was.
A strong side linebacker at 3 is a bust
