Realistically we pick in the top # 5 of next years draft (again) .... what position / who do we take?

Go jags!
We have a draft section for this kind of question.

The most talented guy available.
It doesn't matter, he'll just end up being a bust. Classic Jags voodoo curse, can't break it, we will suck for eternity.

It's going to be another QB. So start paying closer attention to Kizer out of ND, Kaaya out of UM and Watson out of Clemson if you haven't already. I wouldn't be upset if this new coaching staff decided to take another QB in RD2 or RD3. I'd be happy with Kelly out of Ole' Miss and Trubisky out of NC if they're there and they like them as well as insurance policies. This team needs competition everywhere. But it needs it at the QB position more than anything once you get past the current coaching staff. Bortles will be on borrowed time in 2017.

I'd be willing to give Bortles one more season with a new head coach and try to fix that o-line and make Tom House full time assistant to the QB lol.

I am serious man. I am tired of it. He's terrible. Bradley is terrible. Olson is terrible. All three of them need to go. They might retain Bortles in 2017 but we've seen it nearly every time a new coach takes over they want a fresh QB out of college to implant their game plan onto mentally. It's just so aggravating. I am tired of seeing other QB's either from his class like Carr or from last year's class like Mariota and Winston or this year's class like Wentz and Prescott just LOOK like an NFL caliber QB.
Hard no on Kaaya.

Wentz has a top 2 defense. Dak has the best o line and best running game in the NFL. Neither of them are stars.

Bortles has no o line, no running game, no defense, and no head coach. It's the exact same problems as last year

Who else then? We don't have any free agency options at QB next year. It's not looking good. The only answer you'll have to look for and hopefully find is in next year's draft. Who else? What about Kizer or Watson?

That still doesn't excuse the misfires, the under throws, the over throws and the poor mechanics though. I am not saying he won't be given a shot in 2017. I think the next staff will try to salvage the kid. And honestly. I'd like to see that. But it's just doubtful now.
Give Blake next year, then if he's this bad again, draft Lamar Jackson.

Kaaya has regressed this year and isn't a winner. He looks good against mediocre competition but doesn't show up in big games. His pocket awareness is awful and is a statue. I'm not even sure he comes out this year.

I think it's Watson and maybe Kizer in the top tier then everyone else. Watson is an all around stud but I honestly haven't watched much of Kizer to form an opinion.

I'm intrigued by Mahomes and Trubisky in the mid rounds though.
There are no good QBs in this year's draft so there is no point in even discussing making a QB change. Blake will play out his contract.

For the love of god, not one of the quarterbacks.

Why not?

If you think they're that good, you take them. Are you positive Blake is the answer? Remember when the Jags passed up Ben?
1) Fournette
2) BAP Oline
3) BAP Oline
4) BAP Oline
5) BAP NFL pocket passer
6) BAP
7) BAP

The point is none of the quarterbacks look to be worth that early of a pick. That happens sometimes. In 2013, we were talking about guys like Geno Smith, EJ Manuel, Matt Barkley and Ryan Nassib.

To me, the fact that Brad Kayaa is considered one of the best QB prospects in next year's draft speaks volumes.
