Well Bortles has been incredible the last two games. I have said i want to see him do things other NFL QB's can do and he now is and more. If you look at this season, the passing game has been growing over the season. We ran a lot of slants and outs, then more screens, now more deep routes and sluggos and his passing in those situations has improved markedly the last two games. The problem before was just getting the ball to an area the WR could try and catch it, now he's hitting guys in stride, out of the DB's reach, HE THEW A FADE FOR A TD! I feared i'd never see the day.
I still think how Bortles plays is on his confidence and not trying to do win it himself. You need to keep him in that area above believing he can make a pass and below the casual floater passes. The O line gave him great protection all day and really helped by getting the run game going. The WR's were making catches. The passes to Cole for the long TD, Westbrook's TD were beautiful, the pass to Westbrook down the sideline on 3rd down in the 4th was one of the best he's thrown. In that situation, he made that play, Westbrook just had to hold his hands out. That closed out the game. Seattle would have had 3 mins odd left to get the 7 to lead.
