Captain Obvious, aka John Oehser, basically pastes and copies his “10 Things” each week. “ Run, stop the run, pressure the QB, protect the QB, avoid mistakes,” yadda, yadda, yadda. The Jags are, and should be, favored to win this Sunday. Oehser omits the psychological factor in his list. I’ve been watching NFL football for well over 60 years, and I can’t count the number of times that a huge underdog has emerged victorious over an over confident opponent. T.J. Yates doesn’t have much experience as an NFL QB, but he has looked fairly impressive when he has played. If the Jags sleep walk this game, the outcome could be in doubt.

Care to elaborate? Fairly impressive?
In his career he has 8 TDs and 8 interceptions.

He had a QBR Of 100.6 in his game against S.F., and threw 2 t.d.’s . He led the offense for a couple of long drives. He’s had 1 interception in his last 83 passes. I’m not nominating him for the H.O.F. My point is that he has enough talent to beat you if you take a lackadaisical attitude towards him. He threw for almost 9400 yards in college. We just have to treat him with the same aggressiveness that we treat QB’s of higher acclaim.

He threw 2 TDs against an awful team and with basically only throwing to Hopkins. Although I agree the team should come out and be aggressive and I think they will, I'm not worried about Yates at all. He's not good. He's actually really bad and it's a reason why he was 3rd string behind Savage.

OK, we’ll agree to disagree. I hope you’re right, but I’m worried they’ll come out flat after all the recent successes and publicity.

May not be a great quarterback, but he has proved capable in spots. Need to put him on the ground a few times to make sure this isn't one of those spots.
