That starting offensive line is good. When you have to sub in Wells or somebody it goes to Shat. Bortles can make plays behind the starting offensive line. A QB with confidence can change a play.

Either the reporter has it wrong or Hackett hasn’t explained it well, but Blake has been changing the plays.

There’s been a few situations each game at the line he’s clearly heard (on TV anyway) saying “Kill Kill” to switch the play. Perhaps what Hackett means is they are trusting him now to decide what that second play should be as opposed to telling him his play and audible via the headset pre huddle.

Dilly dilly indeed! I'm glad Caldwell is finally realizing ROI on Blake. I'm sure it's been tough for him to grin and bear it the last three years when hearing criticism of his prized first-round QB pick--the GM equivalent of a spouse.

In years past it was the thought that quarterbacks took four years to develop into the final product. Blake has been handy caped by constant coaching changes that demanded learning a new system year after year. That will set most young quarterbacks back in developing an understanding of the offence that can take at least two season to open the play book up.  I also believe keeping Blake in Jacksonville instead of letting him go to quarterback camp was one reason for his degrading mechanics that year.  So Blake's introduction into the NFL was anything but smooth sailing. The change of coaching staff and the continuity and discipline of the new coaching staff has given Blake the time to get comfortable and confident in the offence and we are seeing the results of a young QB finding his stride and playing at the level we all were waiting to see. He is securing his position and will be the starting QB next year if he continues to keep balling.  I also think we need to draft a quarterback to replace Henny who gives us little chance to win games if Blake is injured.  This will enhance competition and the best quarterback will play.  The real plus is we will have a backup who can step in and win games. I for one am hoping  Blake is becoming our franchise quarterback of the future.  After all the criticism by media and fans that he has endured over the past three years he has remained positive and never wavered from his belief of talents.  If anyone deserves to succeed in his quest to be a franchise quarter back it is Blake Bortles.  You have my vote Blake and now lets secure a playoff birth. This morning John Oehser answered a question about this and his answer shed some light on it.

The whole offense is very young, and it's also their first year in this system, so if Blake calls an audible, they have to know the plays, too, so that may have delayed implementing these audibles somewhat. Because if one guy doesn't get that audible, it can be pretty disastrous.

Nothing new really, I don't like or dislike BB, which sounds just as dumb as he is but, I'm on the bandwagon that what ever happens this year with the team, the Jags need a new QB next year. Free agent or draft.
