They went into Pitt and won already this season. This defense could do it again. It’s all up to Blake and the defense. Blake plays better at home so hopefully that’s the remedy for game 1.
If they win that, the defense will get up to play against one of the best offenses.
Nothing it guaranteed but I could totally see them winning 2 playoff games. Or losing the first. Who knows but so pumped to find out.

I really don't know which option is better. Both have their merits. Just my humble opinion.

If we had beaten the 49ers I bet we rest our players.
Hopefully all we need is 2 1/2 quarters of football to put away the tacks.

I don't know if it's been mentioned yet but I'd like to see them do what the Giants did with the Pats in 2007: Play the starters but rest anyone with a nagging injury and then play simple offense and defense.

Rams are doing the opposite. They are resting their players and they still have a seed to play for

It makes the most sense.

You are damned if you do and you're damned if you don't. This is a tough problem to have though.
The offense isn't polished enough to rest players. They are still struggled and they need all the game time they can get. Players are nurturing injuries should just rest though.
The defense on the other hand, backup players should be allowed more game time.

(12-24-2017, 07:44 PM)Use common sense. Use all available personnel, but, save struggling , less than 100% players, by resting them as much as possible. Why damage a healing body that is needed for the playoff game? All back ups are ready and willing, and deserve a shot. In my opinion, the coaching is to timid in the first quarter. We should be aggressive, and try to build up points in the first quarter, rather than panic and intensity only when coming from behind. Remember Mike Tyson in the first round. Many a huge man tried to cover up, but, usually got beat up in the first round. The word JAGUAR should evoke respect, rather than ridicule! MojoKing Wrote: [ -> ]Complete embarrassment today. I don’t think any of us would be comfortable with this team taking 2 weeks off after today’s showing.
We gotta beat the Tacks to redeem ourselves, cause this was pathetic.

I'm pretty sure that if they'd beaten the 49ers that there would've been still a chance to get a first round bye if Pitt or NE were to lose in week 17 (with a Jags win). So, Jags would've definitely been playing to win in that scenario.
However, that's a moot point now.
Jags are playing to win this week anyway.
