Our defense is light years better than last year, yet you're going to sit here and say its their fault for Bortles poor play? They can't help his throwing motion, reads, or awareness. The dude makes dumb plays and can't throw a football correctly. I don't care about what rank we are in scoring defense, I care about our QB leading us down the field for TD's, and he so far hasn't done much of that.
Bring in Garrard, he's only 38 years old and his body should be healed by now. I miss his game manager skills, his precise short and intermediate slant routs.
Quote:Look, Gus Bradley gave up 42 points to Mariota last year. Bortles scored 39.
Do you think Gus will hold Mariota under 30 points tonight? He's awful.
You're never doing anything but deflecting the issue. Never.
Bortles has been horrible
this year. Horrible.

I fail to see it.
26.7 ppg vs. 28.0 ppg is NOT light years better.
The defense leads the NFL in penalties and LAST in takeaways.
Yards per game allowed is completely irrelevant when you're still giving up the same points per game.

Ok, maybe we should dump Bortles then and grab a slot receiver QB like Lamar Jackson so he can throw for 18 TDs like Teddy and lose under a Gus defense.
The problem is coaching.

Deflect, deflect, deflect. Boringly predictable Mrs. Bortles.

Nope. But the Jaguars defense will.

I don't care who the QB is as long as they win.
Look. Arguing with you is useless because you fail to see anything other than Blake being the best. You are making excuses for why he hasn't played well. He has made really poor decisions this year, he's been off target on wide open players (which you claim we don't have but we do) and he still turns the ball over too much.
Is 2-4 all his fault? Of course not. He has had some tipped passes get picked off, he has no run game and he has arguably the worst coaching staff in the league. But you are making it seem like it's everyone elses fault but Blake. Calm down and realize he is part of the problem but he's not the only one.
Space coast, here's your jags defenses. We had some good defensive personnel during those years with Stroud, Henderson, Smith, etc...but what about those bad years?
2003 18th - 20.69 ppg
2004 7th - 17.5 ppg
2005 6th - 16.81 ppg
2006 4th - 17.12 ppg
2007 10th - 19 ppg
2008 21st - 22.94 ppg
2009 24th - 23.75 ppg
2010 27th - 26.19 ppg
2011 11th - 20.57 ppg
Look at those lean years during the Del Rio era. If those were Gus Bradley defenses you would be blowing a gasket. How can you spin this for Del Rio now? Sure he had a few good years, but that was more personnel.
See what a little bit of research can do?
You do understand that our offense is setting up our defense to give up points this year? Those 3 and outs and pathetic drives are not helping out defense.
Have you failed to notice Jalen Ramsey? The upgraded defensive ends? Telvin Smith? Sure the defense has its faults, but you are willing to throw every single part of this team under the bus to defend Bortles. It's pretty sickening.
When the whole message board is against you, you're the problem, not the message board.
So the arguement is our 24-year old elite franchise QB needs a top 15 running game, a few pro bowl pass catchers, and a top 10 defense in order to succeed?
Huh.

Not much of an elite franchise QB huh?
Say what ya want about David. But in his prime with these players he would win many games. He had hardly any receivers and only Lewis as a te. And made stuff happen in 07.
And I thought back in 08 could use much better. But since then miss david. But yet today is not the same as then.
Anyone remember that Oaklahomie cat?

OMG!
What happened to that guy?

Hahaha. I guess he got tired of arguing with the whole board.
Seems reminiscent doesn't it?

Your argument is still heavily flawed, and there is nothing anyone can do to make you see the core issue. It is not the lack of our scoring defense, its the coaches and this putrid offense causing us to lose. Bortles is not playing good football. Period.

He is not even playing decent football. Let alone good.

Man if Garrard had decent WR's, he would have been good.

This kind of post screams, "I did not watch any Jaguars games." Numbers mean nothing by themselves. There is no context without descriptions of actual plays and how we got those numbers.
