Because he's the QB of the Jaguars. As simple as that sounds it's true. Our own fanbase gives him hell, what do you think the media is going to do? We are the redheaded stepchild of the NFL.

I think the whole thing is really weird. I can understand why fans bash on players because that is what fans do. And when it comes to twisting words around to mock a player, I can understand why national sports media does this because it is easy and lazy and there seems to be more money in being loud obnoxious and stupid than actually taking the time to provide real meaningful insight on a game.... which is why I dont actually pay attention to what they say.

But the thing I find odd is how many players are ripping him. I can't remember the last time I've heard so many comments from so many players. There have been far worse players over the years none of which have received the constant bashing Bortles is getting. And it's not like it's all coming from just one team that perhaps we have a rivalry with. It's multiple players across many teams. I don't get it. It's weird. I keep joking that Bortles, who it sounds like gets around, must be hooking up with players girlfriends across the league.
