I am so glad the Jags won, but even with 1:40 left I was not confident the Jags would win. Roethlisberger played lights out, some of his throws were sick. He got the second highest yards in a playoff game ever. One after another, with the receiver COVERED and he STILL completed the passes. What a game, the Jags must be destined for something. I don't want to jinx them, lets just say they have their chance. But hats off to Big Ben, that man played his [BLEEP] off. wow... and we got to watch it.... incredibile.
He made some passes that I've never seen Tom Brady make...
He was zoned in on those deep balls, it was only where the DB couldn't get to it even with the perfect coverage.
He was picked off, had another easy interception dropped by Poz, and lost a fumble that was returned for a TD. Just trying to play devils advocate here, he played an overall good game but wasn't some miracle worker out there I thought. Then again I was drunk mid-way thru the first quarter so what do I know.

Still, the passes he made were, just ridiculously good..
The end zone passes were darts. Only HIS guys had a shot at them. Seems like everything else was wobbly or darn near picked off.
Like it or not, Roethlisberger is a great QB. I'm glad he is in our rearview mirror. I dread facing teams with QB's who can single handedly win games. The fact is, they looked passed us and that is one of the dumbest things any team can do in any sport. The Steelers deserved to lose.
Marvelous game by a HOF QB and his All-Pro receivers. Everyone but Tomlin played their part.

Yup. He and Haley thought they were too smart and they got cute with their play calling, and it cost them. However, that game could have gone another quarter, and I doubt the Jags would have relinquished the lead. It was that kind of game.
Given the game that followed, it may have been one of the best TV days in NFL history. HOF QB Drew Brees was equally spectacular.

this? People talk about Bortles not being able to check into plays. Not being 'allowed' to check to a sneak on 4th and a 1/2 yard?
In addition to Roethlisberger's amazing throws, I'm not sure 98% of receivers come down with a couple of those throws. Antonio Brown may go down as one of the top-3 WRs of all-time.

True, but that's against the best defense in the NFL and big Ben was still dripping dimes. He played out of his mind. The ball placement on a lot of his difficult throws was pristine. Receivers were covered like glue but he still got the ball there.
You can find a few bad plays or mistakes Ben made but look what the jags generally have done to QBs this season....

True, but that's against the best defense in the NFL and big Ben was still dripping dimes. He played out of his mind. The ball placement on a lot of his difficult throws was pristine. Receivers were covered like glue but he still got the ball there.

I'm not sure I've ever seen a better performance on deep throws than Roethlisberger did. It was amazing. I mean just awe-inspiring. And I hate the guy... but credit where credit is due, no other QB would have made those throws. Bouye and Ramsey were on their guys perfectly...

Those are the plays that gave the Steelers a chance to remain in the game. Repeatedly, it felt like the Jaguars were one play from putting the game away. It wasn't until the bad decision by Mike Tomlin in not trying for a FG after the 10 second runoff and a completed pass inbounds that followed that the game was truly over.
Yea after reviewing it, I take back my initial stance. Ben did play one hell of a game, mostly in the 2nd half. That INT, the fumble 6....that's 14 points that cost his team the game, but him and AB were also the only reason they were in it.
I was watching the game with a friend up here in NC, and every damn end zone throw was RIGHT where it needed to be. Couldn't even be mad at the defense, the throws were THAT damn good. Could they have called OPI on Brown? Sure...in the playoffs WOULD they, no way. The defense played out of their minds and it was poor clock management by the steelers that doomed them. Wasn't even mad at the TD with 1 second left....game was truly over by then.
Telvin Smith had Le'veon Bell blanketed as well. Took complete concentration to keep it from bouncing out of his hands. The Steelers are going to look back at this game as a waste of talent.
