Hi, Jaguars fans!
A clash later tonight as the Minnesota Vikings will try to become the first true NFL team to host a Super Bowl in their home city(ies - Minneapolis and St. Paul), as they are in Philadelphia to play the Eagles in the 2018 NFC Championship Game following the 2018 AFC Championship Game. Both the Vikings and Eagles enter tonights as both the 2017 NFC North and East Division Champs, each with 14-3 records.
L.A. Rams were the closest NFL team to host a Super Bowl prior to tonight. LA Rams were based in Anaheim, CA and hosted their home games at Anaheim Stadiium, but lost to the Pittsburgh Steelers 31-19 at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, CA, back on January 20, 1980
A battle also of former St. Louis/L.A. Rams quarterbacks. Vikings might increase their odds and chances as Case Keenum plays opposite backup Nick Foles. Rookie QB Carson Wentz was on an NFL Rookie Of The Year campaign until he was out of the season with his torn MCL at the L.A. Rams.
Winner of the 2018 NFC Championship Game will earn to play in Super Bowl XLI in two weeks, one of these teams will break the 13-13 tie in the all-time series, dating back to October 1962, in tonight's 27th all-time meeting.
Philadelphia also is 3-0 in NFC Playoff Games over Minnesota, winning in January's 1981. 2005, and 2009.
Joe Buck and former Dallas Cowboy and NFL Hall-Of-Famer Troy Aikman are announcing the live TV game commentary, along with sideline reporter and interviewer Erin Andrews, for The NFL On FOX, seen internationally, and locally on both WFOX Channel 30 in Jacksonville, and WOGX Fox Channel 51, from Gainesville.
Westwood One Radio will also broadcast the Vikings @ Eagles game including WFXJ 930AM The Fox from Jacksonville, and WRUF 850AM, 95.3FM, and 98.1FM, from Gainesville, FL.
Cloudy skies at 45 degrees, feels like 42 degrees, is the game forecast inside Lincoln Financial Field, for the 6:40PM Eastern Standard Time kickoff.
Senior Official Ed Hochuli leads his officialting crew assigned from the NFL offices in NYC, to supervise the game action from The Linc, between the Vikings and the Eagles.
