There is nothing like the 2 weeks leading up to the SB if your team is in it, especially when it is the first trip. And winning the SB? Indescribable feeling for a long time fan.
Many thanks to all for participating in this thread. To those who referenced being in it to win or thereof, apologies if I wasn't clear. The premise, albeit inane and defeatist, was based on the inference that the Jags would lose the game vs. the Eagles (which I somewhat think is a possibility, given their forward-thinking coaching staff, explosive offense despite a reserve QB, and dexterous if not elite defense).
I am of the belief the Jags began losing the AFC title match the moment they cowered at the end of the first half, in fear of mistakes, or whatever deeper strategic motives in their arsenal. The refs surely did not help, but that was expected. I am certain Coach Marrone and co gained tangible knowledge from the 2nd half that will propel this team forward, and I believe they will be a bigger force to reckon with in 2018 as a result of that loss. I also feel they will beat New England at the Bank this year, sans injuries and the unforseen.
Back to in or out, I'd still stick with out because I know Jacksonville as a city, and the Jags as a team, would have been scrutinized to unimaginable heights in that LONG two weeks that I'm convinced would have affected this fan base significantly. To compound all that with a loss, hm, I can't fathom the effects... Glad this is just hypothetical. #DTWD. Go Jaguars
I'm not sure why you would choose to lose one game early. Super Bowl no question
I was at the Parade today - You do not want to lose to that fan-base
